5 Hair Masks for Your Hair Type

Regardless of your hair’s texture, the use of a hair mask will always benefit your beauty regimen. There are many hair masks and conditioners out in the market right now, each catering to different hair types. But did you know that the less chemicals you put in your hair, the better the results will be? Many women prefer to use natural hair masks – those made from ingredients found in their own kitchens. Here are some ideas for do-it-yourself natural hair masks that are tailored for your hair type.

1. Dry, Unmanageable Hair

If you have dry, damaged hair, this can be caused by several salon treatments, or frequent exposure to the sun. Whichever the cause, dry hair makes your hair frizzy and unmanageable. To get back that healthy sheen, egg-based hair masks are highly recommended. Eggs are high in protein, and these proteins are the best strengthener for your hair follicles.

Beat two eggs together and add four tablespoons of olive oil. Massage this through your hair. Cover your head in plastic wrap, and leave the mixture on for 15 minutes. Remove the plastic wrap and wash your hair with regular shampoo. Do this 2-3 times a week to regain your hair’s healthy shine.

2. Anti-Frizz Hair Mask

Healthy curls are gorgeous, but not if they come with a big frizz-control problem. For curly hair that needs a little taming, honey-based hair masks are your best bet.

Just mix together a tablespoon of pure honey in a liter of water. After shampooing, apply the honey-water mixture on your hair. Do this a couple of times per week, and the result are sexy, bouncy curls without the frizz.

3. Dandruff Control

Especially during the dry season, dandruff can be quite a problem. Not only is the itchiness inconvenient and uncomfortable, but dandruff is also an embarrassing problem. To treat dandruff, you should keep your scalp moisturized. One of the best ways to do this is using an olive oil treatment.

Mix together equal amounts of olive oil and almond oil. Massage this mixture through your hair and scalp, and leave it on for 15 minutes. Rinse your hair thoroughly. Repeat this treatment regularly to eliminate dandruff problems.

4. For Oily Hair

If your hair is always oily and greasy, it lacks the proper nutrients to maintain the right pH balance. A yogurt hair mask is very effective in restoring this balance.

Simply mix together a cup of yogurt and a whole egg. After shampooing, apply this mixture on your hair and leave on for about 15 minutes. Rinse your hair thoroughly. Using this yogurt mask once in a while will prevent your hair from getting oily quickly.

5. Hair Mask for Hair Loss

Hair loss is a common problem that women face. It could be due to stress, weather, genetics, and a lot of other external factors. With the right hair mask regimen, you will be able to minimize the problem of hair loss.

Mix together an egg yolk, one tablespoon of honey, and one tablespoon of peach or cabbage juice. Massage this mixture into your hair, and leave in for about 2 hours. After that, rinse out the mixture with lukewarm water. This will help strengthen your hair, thus preventing extreme hair loss.
