5 All Natural Skin Care Products

When you browse through the cosmetic selection at and department store or drug store, the natural skin care products can be down right overwhelming. It seems that the better the product is for you, the more expensive it becomes. However, some of the best natural skincare products are found right in your kitchen. So, tie on your apron and get ready to have great skin.

Natural elements along with your own body chemistry cause a variation of skin problems. Dry or oily skin, acne, and wrinkles can wreak havoc on your delicate skin as well as your self-esteem. You can create a spa in your home from natural ingredients found at your grocer.  Here are 5 natural skin care products to pamper your skin:

1. Avocado Mask

Winter months, over sunning, and dry climates can leave your skin feeling flaky and irritated. Dry skin makes it difficult to apply makeup evenly, and also leads to itching and redness. Applying a mashed ripened avocado to your skin for 15 minutes will leave it feeling soft and refreshed. Avocado is a fruit that is high in essential fatty acids, plus is a great source of vitamins A, D, and E, which all work to protect and heal your skin.

2. Shea Butter

In between avocado mask treatments, use natural shea butter products, such as soaps and lotions to sooth your dry skin. Shea butter is a rich emollient that absorbs into the skin quickly, providing instant relief. Look for products that contain 100% natural shea butter and  avoid products laden with harsh chemicals that may irritate your skin. Take caution with shea butter if you have a nut allergy.

3. Oatmeal Mask

Oily skin is caused from over productive sebaceous glands. It can ruin makeup and lead to skin blemishes and blackheads. Tame your oily skin with an oatmeal mask. Cook 1 serving of oats. Add in ¼ cup of honey and 2 tbs of fresh lemon juice. Apply to your skin for 15 minutes and rinse with warm water.

4. Banana Mask

Acne doesn’t discriminate against people because of their age. Adult acne is very frustrating and often hard to treat. Before you reach for skin irritating products, grab a banana. Combine 1 ripened banana, 1 tbs of honey and ½ tsp of lemon into a smooth mixture. Spread over your face and let it sit for 10 minutes. Remove with warm water.

5. Egg White Wash

Eggs are rich in amino acids, the building blocks of healthy cells. To fight the signs of aging, combine 1 egg white, 1 tbs of extra virgin oil olive and 1 tsp of lemon juice. Apply to your face, neck, and chest and massage for 5 to 10 minutes. Rinse the wash off with a warm wet cloth. Apply this wash three nights per week before bed and watch your wrinkles fade.

Just like your diet, your skin care products should be as close to natural as possible. Many ingredients found in foods have nourishing effects for your body, both inside and out.
