3 Exercises to Tone Up Flabby Arms

Toning up flabby arms can sometimes feel impossible. No matter how much you exercise, you just don’t see any results. But, toning up flabby arms is possible when the correct types of exercises are used. For optimal results, try to exercise at least five days a week, and engage in the following moves:

1. Push Ups

Push ups are one of the best exercises that you can do to help you tone up flabby arms. Performing push ups not only helps to increase the amount of muscle in your arms, thereby helping to fill in loose skin, but increased muscle mass actually helps to burn fat. This means that the amount of “flab” in your arms will be decreased. In order to perform a push up properly, start by coming onto all fours on the ground. Make sure that your hands are directly under your shoulders. Use the muscles in your arms and chest to lift your knees off the ground.

You should now have two contact points with the ground–your hands and feet. Step your feet back slightly so that your body is in a direct diagonal line from your feet up to your head. Carefully bend your elbows, lowering your body towards the ground. Once your elbows are bent to a 90 degree angle, use the muscles in your arms to push yourself back to your starting position. Continue until exhaustion. Take a short break, and perform another set of push ups.

2. Bicep Curls

Biceps curls are another great exercise that can help to tone up flabby arms. As the name suggests, bicep curls target the bicep muscles, which are located on the front of the upper arm. Toning and strengthening these muscles makes your arms look great in dresses, tank tops, and other types of sleeveless clothing. To perform a bicep curl properly, start by standing tall with a dumbbell in each hand. Make sure that your palms are facing away from your body. Carefully bend your elbows, and bring your hands and the dumbbells up towards your shoulders.

Once your elbows are fully bent, extend your arms back to their original position. Make sure that the arms are completely extended before attempting the exercise again. As with the push ups, perform this exercise to fatigue. Take a short break, and do another set of bicep curls.

3. Walking

Finally, walking is a great way to help tone up flabby arms. Research has found that cardiovascular activity, such as walking, is one of the best ways to burn fat. In order to achieve optimal results, try to get at least 60 minutes of walking in five days a week. If you are concerned about your ability to exercise for this amount of time, try breaking it up into smaller chunks of exercise. Walking for 20 minutes three times a day will give you the same benefits as walking for one 60 minute session.
