The crushed leaves or powder are not water soluble, but they are about 15 to 30 times sweeter than sugar. The extract or the concentrate is between 200 to 300 times sweeter than sugar. And if that is not enough, stevia has 0 calories and is perfectly safe for you to consume. It has no impact on blood sugar levels, thus making this the perfect sugar substitute especially for diabetics.

Stevia is not sugar, and therefore it does not taste like it either. For some, the taste is an immediate hit, but for others, it takes some getting used to. If you like licorice, then you won't mind the mild aftertaste which this miracle sugar substitute leaves behind.

How to Use Stevia for Weight Loss

Sometimes I like the root beer flavor stevia in sparkling water (I did that today, actually!)
