The Master Your Metabolism Diet: 5 Snack Ideas

Jillian Michael’s Master Your Metabolism diet offers many snack choices in the 10 power nutrient groups: legumes, alliums, berries, meat and eggs, brightly colored fruits and vegetables, cruciferous vegetables, green leafy vegetables, nuts and seeds, organic low fat dairy, and whole grains.

Snack #1: Organic Vegetables

Vegetables are the ultimate snack food on any diet. Low in calorie and high in fiber, these treats can fill you up without packing on too many calories in your diet. If you snack on vegetables on the Master Your Metabolism Diet, however, you need to make sure they are organic. According to the Master Your Metabolism Diet, non-organic vegetables are full of toxins that can harm your metabolism levels.

Vegetables are great snack foods because there are so many different ways to prepare them. Snack on them raw or toss them together to make a salad. If you want dressing or dipping sauce, avoid the highly processed fattening dressings and go with lemon juice or vinegar. You can also steam them or mix them all together in a stir fry. However, avoid using too much soy sauce as soy products should be limited on the diet plan.

Snack #2: Organic Fruits

Snack #4: Nuts and Seeds

While nuts and seeds often get a bad rap because of their high fat content, when eaten in moderation, these snacks are healthy for you. This is because they contain healthy unsaturated fats rather than the unhealthy saturated fat you’d find in meat and cheese. Eat a few nuts with your fruit and vegetables for a tasty snack.

Snack #5: Organic Light String Cheese

String cheese is made up of Mozzarella cheese—an already low fat cheese. However, the light brands of string cheese are often even lower in fat content and make great snacking treats when you need a boost of protein. Make sure that your string cheese is organic because non-organic dairy products are a no-no on the Master Your Metabolism Diet.

Diets don’t mean you have to quit eating and give up on your snacks, and the Master Your Metabolism diet is no different. In fact, one snack a day is encouraged. Snacking doesn’t have to be bad for you as long as you make healthy choices.
