The juice diet encourages you to only consume fresh fruit and vegetable juices. Fresh juice contains more vitamins and minerals than juice that has been sitting for a while, or juice that has been preserved. Plus, juice allows you to consume a lot more vitamins and minerals than if you were to eat the whole fruits or vegetables. For example, you might not be able to eat a whole pineapple in one sitting, but you could easily drink the juice of one. The juice is directly absorbed into the bloodstream where it begins to purge out toxins and restores nutrients back to the body.
You can sip away at your favorite juices all day as the juice diet does not have a restriction on how much, or how often you should drink juice. Here are some great drinkable snacks to satisfy you throughout the day.
Tomato Vegetable Blend
Juice about 5 ripe tomatoes with 3 stalks of celery, 1 large carrot, 1/2 lemon, 1/2 green pepper, a handful fresh cilantro, a small slice of onion, and 1 clove of garlic. Add some sea salt and enjoy at any time of day. You can add any vegetables you like to this juice, including root vegetables and leafy greens.
Juice 5 large carrots with 2 stalks of celery, 1 apple, and leafy greens such as kale, spinach, lettuce, beet greens, or broccoli. Add as many leafy greens as you can handle, as they contain the most calcium and chlorophyll, which are essential to your body. You may also add lemon and sea salt to off-set the odd taste of the vegetables.
Carrot and Cucumber
Four large carrots and 1 large cucumber juiced with a small piece of ginger and a handful of herbs like cilantro, parsley or rosemary is not only nutritious, but delicious as well.
Carrots and Apples
Carrots and apples always pair well together, including in fresh juices. Simply juice 6 large carrots with 2 apples and a small piece of ginger.
Juice 1/2 of a pineapple and a ripe mango, and enjoy. You may also add a small piece of ginger and, or, an orange.
Juice 2 or 3 ripe bananas, (use 3 if they are small), 1 pear, and 1 cup of white grapes. The bananas and pears are sweet, and the grapes give it a nice zing.
This drink is great to start you off in the morning, or keep you going at any time of day. Juice 2 oranges, 1/2 grapefruit, 1 pear, 1 banana and about 6 to 10 strawberries.
If you love watermelon then you will love this melon drink. Simply juice equal amounts of watermelon and cantaloupe and enjoy.
Fruits like pineapples, mangoes and citrus should be peeled. And large seeds, like those found in peaches, plums and cherries, should be removed before juicing, as they may ruin the juicer.
