How Spring Forest Qigong Originated
Master Lin created Spring Forest Qigong in an effort to have a form of Qigong that was much easier to learn. As with all forms of Qigong the keys to success remain repetition and consistency. The consistency applies to both the types of Qigong exercises you perform, how often you practice them and the time of day you practice Qigong. It is recommended that you practice Qigong early in the morning between 5 a.m. and 7 a.m. or between 11 p.m. and 1 a.m.
The Four Parts of Spring Forest Qigong
Spring Forest Qigong is widely practiced and involves simple steps that are designed to promote overall wellness in those who practices this form of Qigong. To simplify the Qigong for people Master Lin designed spring forest Qigong to be comprised of four basic parts. The four parts are:
- controlled breathing
- gentle movements
- mental focus
Controlled Breathing Step
The controlled breathing step requires you to stand with the proper posture. This means with your feet pointed straight ahead, arms at your side, and head and neck held up straight. Once in this position, the breathing technique begins. The best way to make sure you are breathing correctly is to breath deeply while concentrating not moving your shoulders and allowing your stomach to expand and contract with each breath.

Once you have your breathing going and are starting your meditation, it is time to begin the various exercises recommended by Spring Forest Qigong.
