Raw Food Detox Diet: Is It Safe?

The raw food detox diet was founded by top nutritionist Natalia Rose. She is also the author of several books including "The Raw Food Detox Diet". This diet is designed to help you cleanse your body at a level that is suitable for your body. The goal is to reduce the amount of junk foods you consume, and replace them with healthy raw foods such as fresh fruits, vegetables, nuts and seeds. This diet is recommended for anyone who is trying to lose weight, or just to cleanse their body.

The Dangers

Fresh fruits and vegetables will draw the toxins from your cells so they can be eliminated from your body. The concept of this is good, but if you eat too many raw foods, your eliminating organs such as the kidneys, colon, and your skin will not be able to keep up.

As a result, the toxins will simply re-enter the bloodstream and into your body. This is known as antointoxication and can cause many ailments such as headaches, backaches, fatigue, overweight and depression. Therefore, it is very important that you enter the raw food detox diet at the appropriate level, as this will prevent antointoxication.

However, if needed, you can help your eliminating organs to eliminate the toxic wastes before they enter back into the bloodstream. One way to do this is with colonics which help to clean your colon. To do a colonic, you will have to schedule an appointment with a health professional. Another way to help your organs get rid of toxins is with an enema. You can buy an enema kit and do it in the comfort of your home. Hot baths or saunas will help to promote sweating and thereby remove toxins.

Is It Safe?

The raw food detox diet is safe when you begin the diet at your own level. Starting the diet at your level simply means that you consume a little less junk foods, and add a few more fruits and vegetables each day. It does not matter what kind of diet you are on; this method of making small changes will begin the detoxifying process at your level.

You are encouraged to continue with most of the foods that your body is used to, and then as your body becomes accustomed to the new foods, you can take it to the next level and add more raw foods. The goal of this diet is to reduce your cooked meals to the point where you eat raw at least until supper.
