How to Prevent a Bloated Stomach after Eating

A bloated stomach after eating can be uncomfortable and very irritating. There are a few different things that can cause this problem. Fortunately, it's very easy to stop yourself feeling bloated after you have finished a meal by following a few simple steps. Most people will suffer from this problem because they are eating or drinking in a certain way. This means that they will need to learn to stop doing certain things which can make them feel bloated.

Avoiding Certain Foods

The most common cause of a bloated stomach after eating is because of indigestion. This is a result of eating the wrong foods. If you notice that you always feel bloated after eating a certain food, then you should avoid this item in the future. By avoiding this food you should be able to avoid suffering from the symptoms.

Dietary Changes

Another common cause of stomach bloating is because of eating meals which are too big. If you regularly experience stomach bloating, you can try to eat smaller meals. If you are still hungry, then try eating six smaller meals throughout the day rather than three large meals. This should give your body a better chance to digest the food without causing bloating.

Lactose or Gluten

If you experience stomach bloating after eating then you might be suffering from lactose or gluten intolerance without realizing it. This means that you will need to be much more careful when choosing what you can eat. If you suspect that you might be suffering from gluten or lactose intolerance, you will need to visit your doctor to get checked out.

Reducing Stress

Another possible cause of a bloated stomach after eating is because of too much stress. If you are suffering from stress, it can affect your body in all sorts of different ways. Try to reduce the stress as much as possible, and this should reduce the symptoms.

Swallowing Air

If you try to rush your meals or drink very quickly it can lead to bloating. This is because you will end up swallowing too much air, which will cause bloating. Ensure that you eat slowly and don't gulp your drinks down.

Eating Fiber

If you experience constipation and bloating at the same time, this could be due to a lack of fiber in your diet. To avoid this you must ensure that you eat plenty of fiber as part of your diet.

Exercise

If you regularly experience stomach bloating after meals, it could be cured or at least made better by doing some subtle exercise. Any form of exercise will be helpful. Simply going for a brisk walk or a jog will often be enough. This is because it helps to improve the digestive process.

    Hey,

Thanks a lot for your advice. I’ve been suffering from stomach bloating for a while now. It occurs mostly when I eat after a long duration. I’ve tried using antacids but I’ve get no relief. I don’t have any food allergies. Could there be any other reason?
