Good afternoon everyone!

Nikki-THAT IS AWESOME!!!!! Icecream is my biggest weakness. I am so proud you passed it up. Greta job on teh workout too!

Erin-boy do I hear ya about being sore!!! Great job though! All this hard work is sure to get you to 158!

Jen-Great job on getting to the gym! I hope your son had a great brithday! Glad to ahve you back

Well I got in my 6 points of exercise. I did my workout this morning, a 20 minute walk pusing a dboule jogging stroller with teh toddlers in it and carrying my son in the back pack, then I just did 25 more inutes on the treadmill. I'm beat. As soon as these kdis conk out I am going to relax in the tub. Tomarrow's regular workout is supposed to be a "Power Mix" it's hard. Add in I need to get an additional 45 minutes in OUCH. Really not sure I can do it. I may end up working out on Sunday. Maybe if I take it easy tomarrow and just do one workout I can do something easy and fun like mall walking while I shop on Saturday

Have a great day everyone!

Well, it sounds like everyone is doing great. I did well today, stayed on plan, and cleaned the house. I didn't get my workout in, but if it doesn't rain tomorrow, I think I may try to get a walk in the morning. If it rains, I can do my Walk away the pounds tape. I have got to get off my butt and move! I have been so lazy lately, it is not funny. Well, gotta run, have to call in my Avon order!

Thank you all for the support and encouragemnt. We seem to be all working so hard to get where we want to go. If we keep it up there is no way but for us all to be winners in this new lifestyle we all so want.
Misty I wish I had the tomatoes to can. This year we had such a dry summer my garden wasn't great. The many flower beds I have look good but the veggies were down hill. I still may can some this weekend if I can buy a bushel. They taste so good in the winter stews, sauces, chili it will all be worth your hard efforts.
Erin don't forget your building muscle it weighs in more but burns more calories. You will see a difference first in how your clothes fit. The scale may not show the results as much as your body will. This is still a good thing just a different measurement of success. Try to take your measurements so that you can ck them again in a couple of weeks. If you keep exercising you'll see inches melt away. Muscle is a good thing not bad in anyway or form. I got discouraged in the past when I wasn't losing but then someone said you have lost inches..... Good luck!
Hello to everyone else....
Yesterday I tried a different lunch I have to keep a lot of variety in my diet. I made some turkey wraps using a spear of fresh crunchy cuke. Oh so good wrapped with roasted pepper turkey. I didn't miss the bread at all. Then I had a bowl of radishes and cuke slices wish I dipped in a greek lowfat yogurt dip. Today I am preplanning my meals as tonight we are going to dinner with some friends visiting from Florida.
Hope your all finding some wiggle time in your day to exercise. I am going to schedule myself starting monday. Everyday at least 15 min. and 3 times a week at the gym. I need to schedule my self to exercise as I make a schedule to see clients. Manatory is what it needs to be. I am at my lowest pt. and I want more to come off and it will take some work and effort on my part. So lets go girls. Anyone have some more ideas on healthy lunches I'd be glad to get some more ideas....
Thanks,
Carol

Good Morning!

Carol - Those Turkey wraps sound fabulous, I think I will try them sometime for lunch as well. Walmart sells (at least mine does) low carb/high protein pitas. I sometimes will take 1/2 of one and put lettuce, balsamic vinegar, champagne dill whole grain mustard and turkey in it. When I am looking for a dessert type food without any sugar I slice up an apple, sprinkle cinnamon and a little bit of splenda on it (sometimes I just skip the splenda if it's a sweet apple) and then microwave it until it's warm - I usually keep it a bit crispy but DH likes them cooked more. Tuna stuffed tomatoes are good for lunch as well. Lately I have been packing 4 oz. containers with 1/2 a fruit, lean protein, tuna, egg salad (suprisingly allowed in my diet), vegetables, etc and putting them in the fridge for my lunches for the week. It makes packing lunches SO much easier when it's 5:30 in the morning and I was too tired to do it the night before. I like the little containers too because it's perfect portion sizes - which I tend to have a problem with so it limits my intake.

Everyone - Thank you so much for the words of encouragement. These past two weeks have been a bit bumpy for me with food, but I've done really well on my exercise this week. I did a mile yesterday at the pool and another mile this morning. This afternoon is weigh in so I will check in with my progress - or lack there of. I suppose since I'm at work I should accomplish something for the day - especially since I need to leave early for the doctor.

Have a great Friday! (THANK THE LORD IT'S THE WEEKEND!!!!!!)

Default Weigh-In

Ok Ladies - I am just going to post this real quick because I need a nap badly and then we have plans at 6 to have dinner with friends.

2 week progress =

Weight - down 3 pounds (really 2.something but they round this part)
BMI - down 0.4
Fat % - down 1.2%
Fat Mass - down 5.2 pounds
Fat Free Mass - up 2.6 pounds
Total Body Water - up 1.8 pounds (TOM)

Progress looks good, but not completely pleased. Down is better than staying still or going up and since it's TOM I suppose I can deal. I'm going to be more dedicated with the food these next two weeks though. I'm determined to reach my goal.

Naptime - Oh this reminds me. One of the meds I am taking I found out today is used to treat insomnia. No freaking wonder I'm so tired all the time. Starting tomorrow I have a substitute for that, THANK GOD. Silly doctors. I'm just glad I've learned to speak up more about symptoms.

Hello Everyone,

I hope it's not too late to join your Christmas challenge - but here goes anyway.

I'm currently at 201. My highest weight ever was 2 years ago (225 lbs.) and I've been s l o w l y losing - yo-yoing up and down , but luckily now I'm now on a downwards trend again.

I'm currently doing the Zone diet and it's working very well for me as I'm not getting my usual cravings as much.

I work out 3 times a week at Curves and absolutely love it!

I'd like to lose 12 lbs. by Christmas (I figured 1 pound a week should be do-able)

Wishing you all good luck in your goals!

Good Morning everyone! It looks like everyone is doing great! I was a little bad this morning and used like 10 flex points so I could have a big breakfast with my hubby. I don't usually do that, so i figured it wouldn't hurt. I am going to try and fit in a walk around the ball park this evening, so I can wrok off some of the gravy, lol. I have been following plan well and haven't been using my flex very often, so it was nice to have a little "splurge", lol. Keep up the good work ladies, and welcome Penny!

Hi Nikki & Donna,

Thanks for your warm welcome!

I'm glad to see how well you guys are doing.

I hope I'm going to be "good" today and not overdo the calories as we're going out to lunch and that means BIG portions! . I wish restaurants would do 1/2 orders as it's tempting to eat too much as it's not always convenient to take 1/2 home (if the weather is hot or we'll be out for a few hours).

I got kind of off track yesterday as I read a post about how you can diet for 5 days and then eat 300 - 400 calories more on the other two days to "boost your metabolism". Well, that's what I did, and it "boosted" my weight by a pound overnight and set off my cravings for carbs! I'm hoping this will come off by Monday

Good morning everyone!

WELCOME PENNY!!

I haven't exercised much since Thursday. By Friday I coudl barley walk and hardly stand to put my shoes on b/c my ankles hurt so bad. So, I took it easy all weekend. I did take that short leasiruley walk with my friend.

I am a bit frustrated with the people I babysit for. One week they are getting a divorce and the next week he spends the night at her house. The kids don't know if they are coming or going. I never know which kids I will have when. Or how much I will be paid that week. I thought about creating a checklist of things that I would have to do inorder top become licensed to provide daycare. That way I could take more kids. Really it couldn't make my day any harder than having the ones I have b/c they are already making a mess of my house, I already have to cook for them, they already limit my free time. But I live kind of out in the sticks (everyone around here does), but I am on a main route by which many people travel for work. It would cost some money though to fix up the stuff that needs to be fixed and to fence in my yard. So I said to my husband yesterday would it be ok if I try to get licensed, he said sure if you want. Then not two hours later I ried to talk to him about it and he said no that would not be a good idea.

He was going to let me take an MSCE course, now he won't. He thinks that once the kids are in school I should be a substitue teacher. He's set on that. I DON'T WANT TO! He gets annoyed b/c my dad pushed me into speech therapy and I went b/c I had no clue what I wanted to do in college. But he does that too.

I spent all of last winter so depressed. I am already feeling it as this winter approaches. Most of my depression stems from living in this house in the condition that it is in. We can't move and we can't afford to fix it up b/c I have a limited income. But it makes no sense for me to work b/c by the time I paid for gas to get somewhere I could work and then paid for daycare it wouldn't be much more than what I make babysitting now. I am sick of feeling useless.

Sorry to vent but I can't talk to my husband b/c he just angry for me dumping my problems on him. I just need to express my frustrations somewhere, otherwise I will go crazy.

Well everyone I hope you have a great day and a great week! I feel good about this week's weighin. I will have to do today's exercise this afternoon as I do not wnat to get into it and then be interuppted when ever the little girl I watch gets here. the mom brought the little boy and even though they are all at the same house the dad is bringing the girl sometime. Nobody knew when.
