For me, exercise is actually *more* important than the food part - if I diet, I'll do ok for a bit, then stall out. But, if I add exercise to that same diet, I'll see great results. For my body-type and genetic make up, not working out is not an option. My heritage is Polish/Ukranian, so I have that eastern european gene to fight against.
I workout hard 5 days a week, lifting weights and cardio, in order to be able to see any real results. Walking just doesn't cut it for me, unfortunately.
I used to think this was not fair, but now I've just accepted it as a facet of my life - I will always have to workout regularly to stay fit and healthy.
And, when I do it, it does feel great!
