Happy Friday everyone!

So, it's occurred to me that lately I've been having issues with my pants staying buttoned! Now, for work I wear Lee twills - kind of like Dockers, but Dockers don't fit me well because of my hips. Anyway, the Lee slacks have always fit me perfectly - I'm fairly proportional, but straight waisted, and when they fit me in the hips, they fit in the waist.

But, I realized today that the reason they are not staying buttoned is because they are loose in the waist! Loose because my waist is now smaller, proportionally, than it used to be for this size pant. So, with no pressure keeping the button to the right of the buttonhole, it's free to slip out!

This is an amazing result of this diet! This means that I really am making some progress and making my omentum smaller! I am SO thrilled by this! I LOVE this diet!

DF is down another couple of pounds this week, and I was as well. I am so amazed (still!) that just be eating cleanly on plan I get the results I want. I just want to tell everyone I know about the YOU: plan!

cindy.....sometimes it isn't about the numbers on the scales but the numbers on the tape! Glad that you and DF are back on track! My cravings have almost been eliminated....well, for this week and I am praying this continues.

Happy Mother's Day ladies!

I don't have any children, aside from the feline kind, but I know most of you do, so I hope today is a special day for you. That reminds me - I should call my Mom today!

Another NSV (non-scale victory) to report here - I'm down a bra size! Actually 2 bra sizes since starting this - when I started YOU: I was at sort-of an all-time high weight, and I had just had to go up to a 42 and I was not happy about it. I was quickly back into a 40, but today I realized, when I was taking some measurements, that I'm already back into a 38! Since my closet is like a store in terms of clothes of different sizes, I just grabbed that size and sure enough, it fits just fine. Now if I could just get the cup size to go down!

Kim, glad to hear your cravings are back under control - that's the one thing that can undermine me even when I'm trying to be as perfect as I can. You're planning to do that plan for another week, right?

Patti - congrats on the blazer fitting! Now you can borrow her clothes!

Mary - are you here with us? If so, drop a note to say Hi!

Paula - how are you, and how is your weekend going?

Other Cindy - are you out there? How are things going with you? I'd love to hear about your super progress!

Have a great Sunday everyone!
Cindy

CIndy, yes I am planning on doing 'that plan' for another week. I am sure I can incorporate 'it' into the YOAD plan. I went bra shopping the other day and I too was in a size 42 in the beginning and I am now in a size 38. I too have a store in my closet too. I am looking forward to downsizing because I have no intention of going back up. Today starts the WOMAN 2007 challenge and you can read more about it at www.womenshealth.gov/woman/ it wants you walk 10,000 steps a day...sound familiar? I bought a tape measure because I wasn't able to find my old one and my waist measures 38.5 which is down 4.5 inches from when I began the program. So, yes, I love YOAD and will continue on for the rest of my life. Thanks for the Happy Mothers Day wish and you don't have to be a "mother" to be a mother.....A mother is someone who nurtures, guides and is there for others....Cindy....I am sure there are times when you are a mother to DF. LOL!!!! Hugs!

Hi all. I started the you on a diet last monday and am pleased to report a loss of 1/2 inch. Also 6 lbs. I can tell a difference already in my pants and my energy level. It use to be -50 now it is 80 somedays like when I eat salmon it seems to be 100%. I am a 47 year old mother of a 4 year old and recently diagnosed with menopause. That is what sent me into a fury of dieting. I want to stay alive to see my son grow up and keep up with him at his sports, he just started tball. I want to feel good. I don't want to be a fat old lady. I have walked every day for 30 minutes every day except today I did 60 minutes yay.
Glad I found this place. I do have some weak moments and need some help sometimes.

Good question about soy nuts. I didn't see anything in the YOU: book, but I did look up the nutritional value on FitDay.

A 1/4c. has about 110 calories, and 6 grams of fat. That's about half the calories of regular nuts, with 1/3 the fat. I think I would probably save them as part of a snack, as an alternative to nuts. They would be a good thing to take to the movies, along with Cherrios!

I was just a little concerned because I read soy protein isolates are dangerous, linking soy isoflavones with breast cancer, allergies, thyroid disease, infertility, genital defects, and brain aging. ..

Thanks for sharing that article.

To be honest, I'm not sure what to think about soy. As a rule, I don't eat a lot - I enjoy edamame once every couple of weeks, and sometimes have soy nuts. But I don't like tofu, and I drink regular milk, so that's the extent of it.

I feel like I eat a healthy diet without the soy, so I don't go out of my way to incorporated it. Especially given the potential risks.
