Default You: on a diet - grocery list?

I was wondering if those of you whom have read the "You: on a diet" book could put here what your grocery lists look like/consist of?

Here's what I've been buying, in no particular order, just as I think of it:

Skim milk
Eggs
Low fat cottage cheese
Pineapple tidbits
Steel cut oats
Apples, oranges, bananas, grapes
Sweet potatoes
Bagged salad blend
Tomatoes, cucumbers
Newman's Own light salad dressings
Whole wheat pasta - various shapes
Local restaurant marinara sauce (no HFCS, low sugar)
Chicken breast
Lean ground beef
Tuna fish
AkMak whole wheat crakers
Triscuits
Hummus
Whole wheat bread - Arnolds Natural
Whole wheat English muffins - Thomas'
Yogurt - Breyer's Light
Smart Balance margarine
Smart Balance peanut butter
Smart Balance mayo
Polaner 100% fruit spread
Cheerios
Low fat chicken sausages
Frozen veggies - broccoli, corn, veggie mix
Brown rice
Dark chocolate
Canned beans
Canned broth
Canned diced tomatoes

That's all I can think of right now - I'll edit to add anything else I forgot. I cook a lot, so most of these things are "ingredients".

Added later:
Walnuts
Carrots
Fresh fish - haddock or cod
Kashi Go-Lean cereal
Whole wheat Boboli pizza crust

Hi, When you are buying items make sure you read labels. The breyers light yogurt has 17 grams of sugar per serving, you should be under 4 grams. The only yogurt I've come across is the Dannon carb and sugar control with 2 grams of sugar and no HFCS. The Thomas english muffins have HFCS. I have been on the YOU program for less than one month and made lots of mistakes not reading labels well enough.

My Breyer's Light yogurt (looking at the blueberries & cream flavor) only has 10 grams of sugar in it, and because it's from the fruit (there is absolutely NO added sugar or -ose on the ingredients), I believe that would be ok. I personally don't like the Dannon Carb & Sugar control. This one says "Probiotic Plus" on the label, is low fat, and has Nutrasweet in it.

About the Thomas' English muffins - I believe HFCS is the 6th ingredient listed (don't have them in front of me), so that would make it ok, according to the book. Yes, if you are trying to avoid ALL HFCS, then don't use these.

Most of my shopping now comes from the outside areas of the store! I don't like using anything with artificial sweetners (or sugar!) in it, I also do not use any butter or "butter type" things, if it needs fat I use olive oil.

chicken breast
turkey breast
lean beef
wild Salmon
tuna
sardines in hot sauce
sardines in mustard
canned beans (garbanzo, kidney, black)
fresh vegies - peppers (alll colors), summer squash, broccoli, cabbage, cucumbers, cherry tomatos, carrots, green beans, etc.
bagged salads - mixed and darker varieties
bagged spinach (which I mix at home with the bagged lettuce)
Good olive oil
good balsamic vinegar
onions
garlic
lite soy sauce
fresh ginger
brown rice
sweet potatos (fresh not canned)
Natural peanut butter
Ezekial bread
Morning Star Farms spicy bean burgers & pizza burgers
frozen vegetables (easy to cook and serve!)
steel cut oats
frozen mixed berries (have them in my oatmeal every morning)
green tea (different flavors)
almonds
walnuts
non fat plain yogurt
low fat cottage cheese
skim milk
apples
bananas
kiwi
oranges
canned sugar free fruit (peaches, pears and mixed fruit)

that is about all I can think of right now. I go several time a week to pick up more fresh lettuce (it only stays fresh a couple of days)

I get the Peperidge farm 15 grain whole wheat bread.
Smuckers all natural peanut butter
cottage cheese (organic)
skim milk from Braums(organic and evaporated, has more flavor, more protein and more calcium)
kashi cereal
dark chocolate
walnuts
oranges, apples and bannanas
broccolli, cauliflower, carrots, bell peppers, mushrooms, sweet potatoes and cucumbers
Meats are ground turkey, pilgrims pride chicken (says no added hormones), and either salmon or tilapia
Yogurt: o'soy (organic and soy based)
That's my basic list. I'll add stuff when I need a change from what I'm eating.

I drink a glass or 2 of crystal light, i still don't know if it's allowed or not but it's a heck of a lot better than soda or sweet tea!

you are also allowed 8 oz of OJ or grapefruit juice in the morning, so I definately have that! During the day it's water. It's been easier than I thought. I have been on it 5 days faithfully and no soda at all!

I appreciate the shopping lists. Any additions that you'd make now that you've been at this for a while?

About Crystal Light...The ones that are already mixed and come in bottles are allowed as they are made with Splenda. The powdered ones are not allowed as they are made with aspertame. Why they don't switch the powdered to Splenda is beyond me!! I like drinking CL too and the bottled ones are too high priced in comparison.

I'm new to the book and this plan....so I apologize if this is a "dumb" or "basic" question....Based on your comment above....does that mean tha t aspartame is not allowed?

BTW, I really appreciate everyone posting food lists, shopping lists, etc. That helps a lot!

Thanks!
