I am still making my way through the book , but it is going SLOW! With 3 kids and not much time for reading I have come to realize I will take it a little at a time. The daily menu thread is really helpful to peek at just starting out...thanks guys!

I am going to the store to start stocking the house with good things today. Then...exercise is the next item on the agenda. I don't know why I dread it so much, when I get used to doing it I feel so good I usually WANT to do it!

I really want to make this change for my whole family! I have been hearing more and more in the media that this is the first generation of kids that they predict will not outlive their parents - now THAT is scary! No more HFCS for my kids and also watching out for the partially hydrogenated stuff too!

Everyone have a great day! We finally have sun in Wisconsin today.

I had a feeling if it doesn't say "Whole" wheat, then it's likely not a good thing.

Now that I am reading all the food labels, I can't believe what's in some foods! Especially some so-called "health" foods.

Have a great day everyone!

Yes, isn't it amazing when you start reading labels?

Figuring out what you can eat is probably one of the most difficult parts of this plan, but once you've got that down, it's smooth sailing from there!

I agree with BackonTrack about kids and HFCS - I really do believe that the lack of it in my foods today is what makes it so easy to stay on this plan - my foods fill me up and keep me satisfied - no HFCS to trigger cravings later....

I think if I had kids I would definitely switch them to this sort of eating - maybe even more organic stuff to avoid growth hormones and pesticides. It's really quite sad what the food industry has done to Americans because of all the things they have done to try to improve yield and cut costs. You'd think they would have researched the effects of this stuff better before using it....

Default Good Morning You's!!!

everyone for the warm welcome.

Yesterday was a great day, my seven month old car was finally fixed after an accident back in January (not my fault). My dilemma was how to return the rental car and pick-up my car before I had to work. After many phone calls a solution was found and I had my car. When I got home with my shiny new car, I reached to open the garage door and no opener, it was still in the rental car. By this time, I had a little over an hour before I started work. I raced back to the repair shop (the rental car company decided to pick-up the car from them) to retrieve the remote. On the way back I stopped at the Mongolia Express for take-out. By the time I got home all the sauce was in the bottom of the bag (this was a good thing), probably 1/2 cup of teriyaki sauce. Next time I will monitor how much they put on. Once in the house I had time to eat two bites, changed and ran off to work. By 11pm last night I was exhausted and I did not exercise, except for the eight minutes I was tanning.

I have to work late again tonight and will back at again at 8 am in the morning. I am a glutten for punishment, especially since I write my own schedule. A little background, I am the Front End Supervisor/Trainer in a grocery store, Save-on-Foods in Edmonton. Food is around me all day and following the You Plan is the first program I found where I am not tempted to eat bad food or try the new product.

Now that I have written a novel I need to tidy the house, DH is having my manager stop by for drinks after work. I just hope the kids do not make a mess when they get home from school.

Hey gals - just popping in to wish you all a great weekend. I get to go to Trader Joe's today, so I'll have lots of YOU: compliant food in my pantry!

I've never been to a Trader Joe's. We don't have one near us. I've heard a lot of good things about it though. Have fun reading the labels.

I haven't really noticed a change in my waist measurement. I think I'm down 1 inch.
