NOT EXACTLY A WEEK TO BRAG ABOUT BUT MUCH BETTER THAN LAST MONTH BEFORE THE BOOK READING. MAYBE LIKE A BIBLE, IT IS BEST TO READ A LITTLE EACH NIGHT FOR CONTINUED MOTIVATION. I ALSO HAVE A TAPE I CAN USE. MUST GO AND DIG IT OUT.
HAPPY ST PATRICK'S DAY EVERYONE!!
An Old Irish Blessing
May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind always be at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
and rains fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.

Hi - just bought the book. Looks very doable - more so than most plans. The only one with food plans my whole family can follow. The DH and DCs will need one more snack per day than me. My only problem is that two nights a week I am in class and not home until after 9 - will have to pack a dinner with me (usually just snack and eat when I get home).
I have to play around with the meal mixes - most of the plans have a eat something different for each meal each day and that just wears me out. I am okay with eating the same thing for lunch and breakfast.
I wish there was a better shopping list - I guess that must be on the website.
I have a Barnes and Nobel discount card and they emailed me a coupon for 25% so I ended up paying only $11.50 (rather than $27). There was a wait list for the copy in the library.
Cheers....Sue

Hey Mel,
That is exactly what I have been doing with the book...I tried to read it all at once and got all bogged down in the science of the book...
By day I am social worker...so when I wined down I can only handle a page or two...
The thing that I find weird is the book is very basic and easy to follow...that is what I find hard to swallow...

Hey Mel,
Having a boring sick day at home...feel like poop...I noticed that you are from Jersey...I have relatives that are from New Jersey...being the fabulous social worker that I am and the worlds worst geographer are you from the same state?...If so...I noticed that when we go grocery shopping at my Uncles (Clifton N.J.) Shoprite, A&P (we have this in Canada there is one down the street from me), International Wharehouse, Stop & Go, you guys have a huge variety of some very different foods that we can't get in Canada...
Much of the Bob Greene endorsed items (with his logo) we can't even get in Canada...
There is one thing in particular that I have been looking for...and I wonder if you have ever tried this...
"SHIRATAKI" House Brand Tofu Fettuccine Shaped Noodles. These have no fat and only 40 calories for on package. These apparently come dried and you cook them...in Canada I have found them flavoured with fat and a considerable amount of calories...just wondering if you or anyone else has tried these...
Have a good one...

Hello Everyone...
I was meaning on posting this earlier...
Today I am home sick...so I am in one of those...pity me moods...
Anyways...
On television the newscaster was reporting about national averages in Canada...
He said that the average Canadian women is:
5feet 4 inches and weighs 153 pounds
Where as the average runway model is:
5feet 11inches and weighs 110 pounds...
Sure puts my goal in better perspective...in fact I am uncertain where I came up with the 136 lbs goal...
Good Luck all!

Not to be a downer, but at 5'5" and 150 pounds, I am just barely in the healthy BMI range. So the average Canadian woman is slightly overweight. Of course, the average runway model is a skeleton, and certainly shouldn't be what we aspire to.

Just popping in. I tried the noodles. I bought them at Publix. They are expensive and have an odor to them. I thought I liked them at first, now whenever I think about them, I get sick. I wouldn't waste my money if I were you. Just my opinion.

Hey All,
Mel oh my gosh...I have the best time during the summer as I go to my Uncle's for 7-16 days over the summer...and just relax and hang out and shop and eat all over Jersey and New York...
This summer will be a challenge...as we love to go to the Cheese Cake Factory, Charlie Brown's, Patsy's Pizza, Magnolia bakery...I am going to be really hard decisions to make...
Thanks for looking for those noodles...Canada tends to have boring choices in foods...well not really boring but not much in the way of choice...you can walk down a soup isle at my Uncles and be their forever, here not so much...
Thanks A Ton!

New to 3Chicks and trying Bob
Greetings!
New to this site. Have done everything from weight watchers to adkins. Highest weight (not pregnant) ever as of today. Sick of dieting and prefer a change of living focus. That is why I have been drawn to the Oz/Green stuff. Hoping for permanent change and to not think of it as dieting, but healthy living for my family. Haven't finished book yet, but enough to get started. Blessings to you all.

Hey All,
Thanks Mel and Shelley...
Goodness Shelley those noodles sound totally gross...I thought that they sounded too good to be true...a noodle with no calories...go figure!
I really took the Bob's life plan and made my own as I need to get this exercise thing under control before I jump to phase II...I noticed my clothes feel looser...and I want to be down 22lbs first (my goal)...so hopefully next week...But...I can't get the hang of exercise...it is like a great unexplored wonder of the world for me...so what I have decided to do is I wear a pedometer and I need to have 5000 steps per day and if I don't get there I dance crazily (full of vim and vigor) to several really up beat songs...I want to next start with an exercise tape (sweating to the oldies this would be weeks down the road) and then next start to walk 2 km (this would be further downe the road)...
But right now I am really happy getting in my steps...
There are alot of us on here...very comforting...
Have A Rock On Day Everyone!
