You are so right about this book and Oprah endorsing foods with HFCS. I was shocked when she said her favorite yogurt is Yoplait. That was one of the first things I had to give up because the 2nd ingredient is HFCS. I feel like Oprah is being a hypocrite when she talks about getting healthy. Dr. Oz says HFCS is to be avoided.

Starting Best Life Tomorrow...
Hi All,
I have been reading the book for a couple of weeks now and tomorrow I have decided I will start Phase 1. I've got a couple of workout DVD's (Turbo Jam) and a journal to write in. I found that there wasn't anything really new in the book, nothing I didn't know, but I think starting out by just adding the exercise and not eating at night will be helpful. Baby steps to begin with.
I wish the book had gone into more of the emotional side to eating etc. I know that with me it's all in my head. I need a "food psychiatrist" or something. That's what I'm hoping for on this site.
Anyway...I'm going to follow this plan to the letter. I'm weighing in tomorrow morning and then I'm not stepping on the scale for 4 weeks.

First Morning...
Triumph !!! Instead of going back to bed after dropping Jr. at school, I went down to the basement and did a workout (Turbo Sculpt today). Now I'm off to eat my brekkie. I'm getting really addicted to Bran Buds these days. I need to find a good flaky cereal to put them on though. I've been eating Just Right but, according to Bob's rules, they have too much sugar in them. I have to do the groceries this morning so I guess I'll spend some time reading labels in the cereal aisle. I'm also considering picking up another workout tape. Looking for suggestions if anyone has any.
Cheers...D

That's great!
Mercee, that's great and I was wondering if we could get a thread under the diet plans section for our progress. Otherwise, I will post here, too. I am only on my second week. Not weighing myself is a killer but it's making me more conscious of what I eat which is what I should do. Just did 40 minutes on my stationary bike. We have ice and snow here so it's not good for walking (had a treadmill but it broke and can't get to gym today). Last year, I started skiing and I am so chicken! I am almost 50 yrs. old with bad knees but everyone seems to encourage me. Unfortunately, they don't have a place to do cross country because I'd like that although everyone else in my family thinks it's boring! Didn't go skiing yet because of the expense. To tell ya the truth, I'll stick to cycling and walking!
Good luck to all!

OK, so I'm new and will have to learn how to use this site. Bear with me. You all have such cute icons etc. I do have the BoB G book. In fact I have all of his books+Oz's. So now to use them. I am also with WW and go to the gym. Now to get my head straight. Bob's book is good at doing this. Getting the mental part in order.

I think the ball tapes are great. Easy on the joints and very effective. Bands and Pilates are also good. My Personal Trainer just finished a session with me on the ball and it was great.
