The best life diet
Hi everyone,I am feeling pretty good about doing this program. It feels like since it is slowly easing into healthier foods etc,not all at once,it feels doable for me.I am doing phase 1 right now so far so good.I think it's great that there is a thread here for the best life diet,so we can give each other support.
Hi Darcy.I feel the same way, this looks really good.one baby step at a time and the support we can give each other here I think will really help.have a great day
Hi Lake girl,I have alot of weight to lose too.I think we can support each other here on the boards.Have a great day
hi ckatgo, welcome, glad to have you here.We can do this look forward to seeing your posts.take care
hi zmuchbackend,Hey did you go to the book signing that sounds really neat.take care

Thank you for welcoming me...I am decideing to go ahead and go for the South Beach plan...because A) I already have the book and B) both plans end up in the same place anyway, there is just more structure to the SB plan which I think I need.
Much love and luck...talk at everyone anyway?

I find this odd. I do not know why Oprah would endorse SlimFast and/or if she really does use Slimfast or did this as a favor for Bob. I also do not like that they specifcally name certain products that just happen to have been given Bob's "Best Life" seal of approval. I think it's cheesy. For instance, instead of just saying low-fat or fat free yogurt containing x amount of fiber, carbs, etc...Oprahs alleged menu is only Yoplait yogurt. Lots of product endorsement.

I agree it seems like he is getting paid by alot of companies for products. Also check the labels this stuff has HFCS in it which your body does not recognize. Remember he is not a doctor. Do a google search on the products ingredients and see what junk is in some of these products.

Hi everyone,Hope everyone is doing well.Hope to see more people post how it is going.I am on phase 1 and doing well.I ended up eating over my cutoff time the other nite, was running late for dinner,so I will just add a extra day on to my phase 1.I will probably be doing phase 1 longer,it will depend on what the scale says when I weigh in lol Take care kime

I am waiting for my book from Amazon. I watched the show and thought some of the approaches were interesting, like the phase 1 stuff. I've been away for quite awhile because my eating has been out of control. I awake each day with the intention of doing my Weight Watchers. I'd lost 45 pounds a number of years ago, kept it off for a few years, but after losing my mom, ate my way through grief. Since then I've lost my dad, broken my ankle totally apart and have screws and plates to hold it together, and bottom line, somehow I just can't stick with anything. I now have type 2 diabetes. So far, I'm not on medication but if I don't get under control, that will be next. I'm the highest I've ever been at 210 and 5'2. For so many reasons, I need to lose this weight. I will check in to see how you all are doing with this and pray that I will do it this time. As for the product endorsement..in some ways I am hoping that this will make my shopping easier for if I see that label for Best Life Diet, I'll know it's okay and won't have to guess. Good luck to all of us!!!

bob greene's best life diet
HI Cjd,Glad to see you post. For me I think the book program is going to work well.I too was on ww and lost some but mainly always gained it back or stayed the same. I needed something differen't for me So I am in phase 1 so far so good.I had one day where I ate over my cutoff time but that just means I add one more day on the phase 1 before I weigh myself.
I am so sorry for your losses and your health.I no we can do this, support each other to make our goals.I will be here if people keep participating. 2007 will be the best yet. take care kime

Thanks seabreeze. I'll be checking in to see how you are doing. I like the idea of making some of the habit changes first before doing anything else, like not eating past a certain time. Makes sense to me.

Well Hi all I went to a book signing of Bob Greene last night it was pretty cool I got there early and was like the 4th in line and it ended up a lot of people showed. He asked me if I tried any of the recipes and I said I'm not much of a cooker so not yet but I'm going to try He said he made the recipes easy so people would do them. Somebody asked him if the diet works and he said yes if you do it.
He signed my book and my journal. He's kinda cute to!

I completely agree with you about the ease of the shopping! I favored all of the products that are in the meal plan anyway, including the Yoplait yogurt, because, I've had many yogurt brands when they're on sale. Yoplait is both low-sugar and low-fat or fat-free, and the flavors are very original, like Key Lime Pie, Boston Cream Pie (tastes like chocolate), etc. etc.
Good luck! I think it looks like a great meal plan. Tackling the shopping at the grocery store is sometimes the first challenge.

bob green's program
Hi everyone,It is so great to see everyone here today.
2muchbackend,that is so cool about the book signing. He looks like he is cute.So far so good on phase 1. Well of course phase 1 you can still eat any food.I have about 1 more week before I weigh in to see what the scale says. I am in no rush to go fast through the phases,in fact in phase 1 if I am losing pretty good,I will stay there for awhile, like the book suggests.Because this is something that looks like I will be able to do for life, so that feels really good.I know we can all do this together with support,I will check back in tomorrow, everyone have a great evening take care kim

Hey,everyone! I would just like to jump in to say that the book is great, but don't bother with the website. I joined, then discovered it's really not worth the money spent. Not much more info than you can get in the book. You can't cancel online, either. You have to call them. I am very disappointed in the site. I was able to cancel with a phone call.

Yeah to bad that the website is a pay site and on oprah.com's message board a lot of people were complaining that the site wasn't good if it's gonna be a pay site you'd think it would have more info. And we can come here for support.

Want to Join Thread
Hi Suzanne and all you gals! I saw the Oprah show and have the book and am still reading it! Finally, a program that is the right fit for me! I've been reading the book on my stationary bike. I am also a Lifetimer WW member but am above my goal. I am very excited about this and believe this is a program I can do for the rest of my life and finally keep the weight off. I want to say thank you all for the advice here. I was contemplating the use of Bob's website but now I see it may not be all that useful. I am having some physical limitation problems with my legs (knee area) so I can't walk or jog like I used to but I can still use the bike and elliptical and I have free weights and go to the gym so I can do the exercise program although I don't see myself reaching Level 5 anytime in the future but hey, according to Bob, that's o.k.
Thank you all for your wonderful advice and support and the best of luck to everyone with this attainable program!

Reason: I had Phase 5 and meant Level 5 for the exercise
