Default Just a few to lose... anyone else trying to lose that last 10lbs?

Hi! Im new to the forum. So let me tell a little about myself. I am a 20 year old female. I've never really had a weight problem but I am 4'11" so any weight on me shows up fast and it all goes to my belly. Realistically I would be healthy at 95 pounds but I would be happy at 100-103. I am currently 110ish which you guys are probably saying what is this girl thinking.. but that's how it all starts, you let a few pounds slides... then the next thing you know you've gained 15 pounds, etc. I tried counting calories before but stupid me didn't take into consideration the fat so no wonder there were no results, even when I worked out 4 times a week! So one day the scale said 115 and I said okay this is it. I got online and looked up Weight Watchers info. I didn't want to pay for it, and the forumla for points is online so why not try it at home! So I did this and was strict about it and I went down to 105. I maintained this for a while then summer ended, classes went back and I kind of slipped up.. well my weight is back up so I am doing it again. Those 10 pounds are always the hardest to lose! Anyway, I just wanted to share my story and see if there is anyone else like me.. and also see if anyone else just calculates points on their own and keeps track. Can't wait to hear from you guys!

welcome ash
and no matter if it is 10 or 100 pounds it is the same struggle for all of us. I have been trying to lose 'just' 10 pounds for 5 months! we are all in it together.

I can totally relate to you lose then it creeps up on you and next thing you know bam...10 pounds back on again, that is where I am at now. My best advice is to journal and plan all meals. Exercise is great but even getting back into that routine can be tough....Make one change at a time! after all this is a lifelong change not a 6 month whoo hoo (does that make sense?)

Well enough of that welcome aboard post often we have a monthly thread going where it is a great place to moan and groan, post the good and the bad. Also add you weigh in's on a separate thread...and if you look back for the past few months I was on a gaining spree so .. you see I know what you mean

look forward to hearing more from you

We all have struggle to lose weight around the stomach but You cannot target fat loss to a specific area of your body Period. When you lose FAT it comes from all over your body. You have no control over that. You can however target tone muscle. That's where ab and core exercises come in. There are all kinds ab exercises online , and put together an ab workout that can work for you, to firm your midsection. However, more importantly than doing lots of workouts, its to have a balanced diet. Try to concentrate on vegetables, fruits , lean meats and whole grains. Drink lots of water. Also cut out soda completely from your diet, even diet sodas.

I can relate a bit..my sister is 4'11" and after going on some antidepressants, went from 115 (looked good on her frame) to 153..which is turn is making her even more depressed! We are both doing weight watchers and its working for us..but I lost 5 lbs my first week and she lost 1. Just keep in mind that the smaller you are, the longer it takes to lose. Dont give up if a whole week goes by and you've lost only a few ounces or none at all. Your body WILL adjust and you will lose..just takes a bit longer.
