Hi,

This is "Day 1/Week1" for me but I'm having trouble figuring out point values and don't want toget off to a bad start. At the rate I'm going it'll be bedtime before I figure out lunch
I have ultra lowfat Miracle whip on hand...1 tbsp. has 17 calories, 0.4 grams of fat, and no fiber...on the chart I have it says fat-free mayonaise, 4 tbsps. count as 1 point. Would this count the same?

I have fat free cheese slices on hand...1 slice has 32 calories and 0.2 grams fat....would this count as 1 point?

Is Neufchatal cheese the same as Phiadelphia cream cheese? If not, how many points for the Philadelphia?

Also, does anyone know how many points in a Kentucky fried "twister"? Will be out of town on Saturday and trying to plan ahead.

I confess I'm trying to figure ths out on my own....didn't join WW so don't have that handy little slide rule for converting foods to point values.
Sure would appreciate some help.

O.K., first things first. You need the points formula.

Start with calories
Add 4 calories for each gram of fat
Subtract 10 calories for each gram of fiber up to 4 g fiber (Ignore any additional fiber)
Take the total and divide by 50.
Round up.

Your 17 cal mayo would be 1 point for as many as 4 servings.

Your cheese would be 1 point for one OR two slices.

Since you are in Canada, you may not have nutrition labels on all products. Get a good reference book (Corinne Netzer's Complete Book of Food Counts, Art Ulene's book, etc. Maybe one exists specifically for Canada with Canadian brand-name foods) so you can look things up and calculate the points.

Oh, and bookmark www.dottisweightlosszone.com for restaurant points. Forget that KFC twister! It's killer.
