Points for meat....cooked or uncooked

Hey guys! If I was going to weigh 3oz of chicken breast for 3 points...would I weigh the 3oz of meat cooked or uncooked? Thanks!

I always weighed my meat raw. Not sure if that is right though or not.

i know on the WW scale it has chicken in there as cooked but i don't think it makes much difference

That is for cooked chicken (I just checked on e-tools).
Uncooked chicken would be less points because as you cook it you lose some of the fat and juice.

Cool thanks!

Just bumping this topic up. It was a question I had as a newbie and I thought others might need the info too.

Most relatively lean meats (unless WW has changed the point values in the last year) are 1 point for 1 ounce of cooked, edible portion. That is you don't weigh the bone or skin, unless you're going to be eating them (the skin, I mean - I assume you're not going to be eating the bone).

It makes a fair bit of difference, because 4 ounces of most raw meats will yield 3 ounces cooked.

I do what a lot of people do and check e-tools sometimes, but most of the time I like to measure (count) my meat cooked because it usually loses moisture and some fat after it's cooked. I don't like weighing in the extra stuff if I can help it.

I actually weigh my meats before and after. Before so I have the right portion I want for the dish, and after right before it goes on my plate to make sure I get the most bang for my buck. Yeah, I'm crazy lol.
