Default I have been trying to eat more..

But just feel weak still........might be the Fibro...I never know

Tara...he is so cut and the picture is so clear is that from a digital camera or did you scan it? A Gateway they are the best and my old gateway is sitting next to me all hooked up so I can get files from it. Wish I could have gotten another Gateway but DH would not spend the money..this is a cheapy but I don't use it for much yet so he didn't think we should spend the money! It does have windows ME on it and I can use IE to get here but use Netscape otherwise.

Bren......your best best bet is to have the tick itself tested for Lyme..that is the only positive way to know if she might be infected cause the blood test for people are not accurate. The rash can come anywhere from 3 days to several weeks or longer, and she may never get it or any symptoms untill way later!

Gonna try to redo a flower bed the snowplow ruined ..........if I can get some energy back, my son will be helping and the arm still hurts too!

I had a dream last night about ticks. Ewwwww!

Bren, please email me. I haven't been able to get my emails to you. I'll try replying.

Candice, on top of his MS, my husband has Fibro also. I feel for you because I watch it in him.

Tara, Nicholas is just adorable.

Ally, welcome! We'd love to have you join us.

Going to weigh in in less than an hour. Gee I need to find my lightest clothes!

Default Good Morning

I'm at my parents home in Melbourne. Drove up last night (about 1 hour and 15 mis of a ride) to get some R & R.
After spending almost the entire day at Billy's school taking pics for the year book and the parents, school was out and I drove Billy and three other kids home. Not even a 1/2 hour later while I was working on the photos on the puter, I hear "THAT SCREAM". You know, the one when you KNOW something really bad happened to your kid this time. Well, leave it to my "Dennis the Menace" aka Billy to put his foot through a 10 gallon fish tank they had put a frog in a couple of days before. He was stompin g!!!!!!! on the thing to get the sand out and his foot went right through it. Naturally, he put his hand in there to pull his SANDLED foot out and in doing so, got several pieces of glass in his hand and many pieces in his right leg. Yep, I'm calm now but there was so much blood on him AND me that my neighbor gave me a towel.
Long story short......He's a VERY lucky little rat..... uh, I mean boy <gggrrrr). The doctor in the ER put what he called quote and un-quote "MONKEY SNOT" all over his hand and leg that numbed him all up so they could clean him and get all of the glass out. So, I really didn't feel like dealing with any "crap" when I got home so I packed up an overnight bag for the two of us since Jackie slept over a friends house and Bill is still in New York until tomorrow. Michael supposedly had the entire day off and neither he OR Christine called to see if they were going to have dinner or what. AGGHH, so I called her at work and she said he was on his way. My neighbor kept an eye on them for me so I could leave before dark. An hour later, I called and he STILL wasn't there. So....same sh**, different day.
Once I got here it felt so good to finally "crash" and just let it all out. I had my parents in stitches telling them what a little smarty pants Billy was in the ER once he wasn't hurting anymore. They can't believe his thumb or one of his toes didn't come off. Yep, he's a handful and half or two or three. etc. etc.

Penny - Don't you remember me telling you I have a Masters in Equestrian studies when you were talking about your horse and your trainer? I know it was a while ago....by the way, how IS your horse doing and how is your new (then) trainer?

Brenda - I had lyme desease once and once you've tested positive for it, you will always test positive for it. They treated me with oral anti-biotics and my fibro might have been brought on by that ... so I'm told. Anyway, don't get upset, she'll be fine. Especially today, they've got some very potent antibiotics to get rid of it. Like Candice said though, watch for a rash or any flu-like symptoms. I'm sure the doctors told you all of this already but we just love ya and are concerned nags...what can I say?!<grin>

Boy....you guys are tough chicks!!!! Er, birds...heh-heh....all the butt kickin talk......too cool. My owl buddies to the rescue.

Hey Susan - I was so hoping you'd move closer to me....boo-hoo. Oh well, guess I'll have to "fly" like everyone else.

Oooooo, my father just brought me in some FRESH squeezed oj that he and Billy picked (literally) off his trees about 20 mis. ago. Gotta go and have some breakfast......besides, this WebTv thingy hurts my wrists. I'll write you all when I get back home tonight or tomorrow. Have a great weekend everyone and HEY to anyone I missed.
Hugs,
Pamela

Hello Ladies

Its so nice to see good weather!!!

PJ - I honestly don't remember you telling me about your masters. So cool, That should be very fun for you.
Fresh squeezed OJ Can I have some? Yum!!!

Brenda - I have been doing Tae-Bo on and off for about a year, I find it very helpful, but my hips get sore from all the kicking!! So I have been trying to alternate walk one day Tae-Bo the next. Seems to help alot.

I thank everyone for encouraging me with the OA thing. It has helped me much more than I ever thought it would.
It has helped me stay OP, and has helped me be honest with myself about what I can control and what I cannot. I have found that it also, has helped me being more honest with the people around me. I have found myself telling people right up front if there are doing something that makes me angry or whatever.
It is such a freeing feeling, for the first time in I don't know how long, I finally spoke out, it felt so good I came home happy instead of sitting down feeling bad and pushing all my emotions down with food. So I guess they must be on to something.

Well gotta run working again this weekend.

Take care all

Penny, I am really happy that your support group is working for you. I am thrilled for you. I just rejoined WW 12 days ago and I am ready to lose this weight for good! (I've a long way to go)

PJ, they tested Steve for Lyme Disease before confirming the MS diagnosis. Lot's of the symptoms are similar.

Hi Gals,

Okay, Okay now, you are all getting me very scared about this lyme disease. We didn't save the tick, atleast I don't think the doctor did, I will have to ask her tuesday when the girls go in for their physicals. Maybe they automatically test them, I hope so anyway.

I decided not to go out with my sister tonight because tom arrived and it is a bad one. I am just going to turn in early.

JudyGal, I will try to write you soon, just don't have a chance today but probably will tomorrow. Do you have my correct e-mail? It is [email protected] Remember the 2 n's in Punnky some people forget and only put one, maybe that is the problem?

Gotta go to sleep sorry no replies tonight.

"PJ, they tested Steve for Lyme Disease before confirming the MS diagnosis. Lot's of the symptoms are similar."

I've heard that too Judy. My fathers brother had MS for many, many years. I'm sure you must have your hands full and I'm ashamed for complaining about such trivial "stuff" when I know what you must go through at times. I think of you often and I always light a candle or two for my friends and family who need a little "extra" of whatever it is they need that day or night. Please know that I'm always an ear or phone call away.

Penny - Yes, it must have been about a year or two ago when you had mentioned getting a new trainer. All I know is that I was so excited for you and jealous at the same time since I wasn't able (physically) to ride. I'm really not supposed to now either but I just "hack" around the woods once in a while and work with this one thouroghbred on her dressage. She's really easy to sit to......I mean, my big old butt barely moves! LOL........her side passes feel like you're on air. I"ll take a couple of shots and email them to you.

I was just looking at the letter I posted from my parents home and realized that the Christine and Michael part didn't make much sense when I said I had my neighbors "watch them"....I meant their kids......LOL......sorry bout that. I'm so burned out mentally and physically and.....OH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OH, OH.!!!!!!!!

I FINALLY kicked them out tonight! I came home from a rollerskating party where my two kids were at after I got back from Melbourne and Jackie proceeded to tell me how Christine started cursing at her and blah, blah, blah.........anyway, when I got home, they were all sitting out back and hanging out in the pool. I asked Chris "what's the deal with you and Jackie today?"....Well, Michael wails on me and I just let him have it with everything that must have been bottled up inside all of these months. I was actually trembling when I went back inside the house. Then Chris follows me in and asks if she can have a few days to get their things out of the garage and into storage. I just looked at her like she was nuts and said "Of course". I know it's not humanly possible to do all of this in one weekend so I told her she has a week to get ALL of their stuff out but their BODIES have got to be gone within the hour. So.....that's that and my son is sleeping peacefully on the couch (after falling asleep watching cartoons on the family room tv for the first time in months) and Jackie already had plans to go to her friends house after the party but can't wait to come home tomorrow and start getting her room back to normal. I tell you guys.......I feel like a hundred pounds has been taken off my shoulders. I'm at peace ........for the first time in a long time BUT my eyes are all puffy from crying because I don't care WHO you are.......it's hard to do.......especially when there are kids involved. I mean REALLY hard. I felt awful until I overheard him telling his father on the phone that I was a whacko.........then I told him to get off my phone and out of my house before I do something that I'm not responsible for. THAT'S when I scared MYSELF because I know I really meant it. Amazing what you can endure and then what you MIGHT be capable of doing when pushed to your limit.
Well, Bill flies in tonight around midnight and it will be great to sleep with our bedroom door open and be able to wake up and walk around in my jammies if I want. Ahhhhhh, Sunday. I'll see you all tomorrow. This Owl has had a heck of a day........let's make that TWO days. Heh-heh.
Hugs to you all,
~Pamela~

Hi ladies!!

Just a quick post to let you know I will NOT be around for a few days (not even lurking!!). I am off to Foxwoods Casino in CT tomorrow afternoon. (for Pauls birthday). I won't be home until Tuesday.

Penny - That is so great that OA is working out for you!! I am so happy for you

Bren - How is Bree?? I am sure everything will be fine. Keep us posted.

Judy - How was WI today? I hope you lost a bunch of weight

Candice - That is a scanned pic. I haven't been using my digital camera much - its a cheap one and its not that great. I mean some pics come out good - but not many! Oh well we live and we learn. I want a better one - but I will wait a while. I don't really NEED it!!

PJ - Glad you got away to your parents for a few days. And hey remember you did what you had to do with Christine and her kids. I am sure it wasn't easy - but people can only take advantage for so long. YOU ARE A GOOD PERSON! They just did the wrong thing. That is not your fault.

I have to run - I will be back on Tuesday. Have a good couple of days!

Bren, I will send out a test email. It will say "test 1"
Let's see how that works.

Tara, my weigh in was so fabulous I could barely contol myself. In the 12 days since I re- joined WW I have lost 7.5 lbs. Can't you just scream? I have a long way to go though. My leader said if I continue to lose this kind of weight at that rate, then I will have to make some changes. I hope you had a wonderful time on your trip and won a lot of money!

Pamela, You and I have been friends for years now. You never offend me with anything you say and PLEASE feel free to bi**h about anything and everything. I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO proud of you for your assertiveness. I'm just so happy you finally did it. The only problem is that Bren, Tara and I don't need to kick any butts now!

Default 4 hours of yard work!

We got that flower bed redone and some other stuff but still have the garden soil to get ready before I can plant anything! I'm not sure how much longer I can do this kind of work....This old body just can't take it even 40 pounds lighter! I'm still feeling weak and the legs are so shakey from squatting so much..I usually use a small seat with wheels but didn't today! I have too many flower beds to keep up with!LOL I love flowers!!!!!!!!!!

PJ.........good for you and hope Little Billy heals fast! Kids!!!!!!!!! My son, now 21, threw a brick up to knock icecicles down and the brick came down and hit him on the head..talk about blood! Took some stiches, he was 8 at the time! Now he is in school studying to be a doc!

Judy...Wow..7.5 pounds...tha's a major loss! I'm just losing about .5 a week and I still feel weak! I remember you saying Steve has Fibro and MS from the earlier posts last year.

Bren...hope the doc saved the tick! Sometimes they are so uninformed when it comes to things like Lyme! Hope she doesn't have it! The tick has to be remove properly too or it can regurgitate into the person it is being removed from!

Tara....that sure is a clear pictuer..must be a good camera, scanner, computer, you have there! Hope you have a good trip!

Penny..glad OA is helping, might be just what you need along with the WW program. I think I told you last year my sister has two horses..she never has the time to ride them! Tom and Deacon..one is brown and the other is gray..I don't know much about horses and I can't ride them cause it hurts my bu**..I bruise!!!

Hi everyone!

I just wanted to pop in and say hello. I am slowly but surely getting better. I had to go to the doc again. I still have the bronchitis junk and all this other junk that is going around. They do not want me taking anymore antibiotics because they had to give me the 2weeks of them the month before last. I think all the stuff he gave me is starting to help, even though one is a steriod...YUCK...I went to WW yesterday for the first time in about 3 weeks..they were closed for Easter and then I was too sick to get out of bed last weekend...I was only up 4 pounds with TOM and steriods so I was a happy camper...my jeans had gotten so tight again I just knew it was more...thank goodness I have still been eating properly or it would have been worse.

I guess I better run. I am trying to clean a little and rest every hour or so. I don't want this going into pneumonia.

Hope you all have a great Sunday and I miss you guys.
Hope to be back on a regular basis soon.
Love
Setina

Default ~Good Morning~

Before I start my post, I received an excellent "Daily Inspirational Quote" in my email today and with it being Sunday, I thought it would be very appropriate to post. Hope you like it as much as I do.

All the masterpieces of art contain both light and
shadow. A happy life is not one filled with only sunshine, but one which uses both light and shadow to produce beauty.

-Billy Graham-
*******************************************

Ok.....

Bill got home around 12:30am last night/this morning and I can't tell you how nice it is for him, Li'l Billy and myself to be in a peaceful house on a Sunday morning. I SHOULD be at church but I also know my place TODAY is right here. I just wish Jackie were here too but she'll be home soon enough. Looks like it's going to rain and Florida really needs it. I've put all of my hanging and potted plants "out" so they get nice and saturated. I've done well with my WW with the exception of my veggies and fruit. I HAVE started getting all and more of my water in finally. I don't quite understand how I ever stopped drinking enough because I like it so much and am always thirsty. Oh well, important thing is I'm back to drinking it and now I just need to get those veggies and fruits in and then I'm back on track 100%.

Tara - I know you wont see this until you get back but I hope you have lots of fun and win lots of Moola $$$$$.

Judy - Judy, Judy, Judy....as Carey Grant would have said. You're too much ....... sorry I messed up your "Butt Kickin" plans....heh-heh. Sometimes I don't know what I would do if I didn't have your support and feedback. We REALLY need to meet in person someday soon. AND WAY TO GO ON THOSE 7.5 pds. Wowweeee!!

Candice - Sounds like you really know your stuff when it comes to a green thumb. I'm also looking forward to seeing your flower beds once they bloom. Soil is sooo important to a good garden and most people don't realize that part of it all. I'm a firm beleiver in always having lots of good, moist, rich soil on hand for whatever project I plan on doing. Don't laugh but I keep it in Billy's green little tykes wagon that he outgrew. Gets around the yard just great and is also a really good "carry all" for my "stuff". As for your knees, I sure know what you mean and you SHOULD HAVE used that garden sitter onner thingy. LOL.....I don't know what it's called but I have it too. It's great and I'm never out there without it. Now don't make me tongue lash you. Next time use it. We may be getting older and I know we have our aches and pains but please....don't ever give up your gardening. If I can do it...so can you......don't ever stop moving and I know it's easier said than done but we've got to do it girlfriend. Stick with me on this one.

Brenda - You give Bree a great big kiss from me, will you? I hope you're all having a wonderful Sunday.

Penny - Hey, whatever works for YOU......go for it. Me? I'm doing WW AND taking xenecal after a heavy meal which I haven't had lately so I haven't had to take any. heh-heh. Stick with it if it's working for you. We're all different and different strokes for different folks. Be proud of yourself. You're doing an awesome job!!!

Well, that's it for me. I've got to get back to finishing up these photos for Billy's Kindergarten class and then I plan on making a really nice Sunday meal for MY family.

Tonight!!!!!! we eat in the FORMAL dining room.
Hugs to you all,
~Pamela~

Hello, everyone!!!! I apologize for being gone so long. My health really took a turn for the worse for a while. The doctors thought I had MS, but fortunately those tests were negative. As it turns out, I have Myofascial Pain Syndrome along with the Fibromyalgia. I have a wonderful team of doctors who are really helping me. We put off the adoption when my health took a downward turn. Within the next few months, we plan on pursuing adoption once again. Our desire is to adopt a sibling group, then maybe a newborn a little later down the road. We are now looking for a church-size van. We want to have a house ful of children.

My husband, Mark, is going on a low-carb diet next week, so maybe I will have more success with my weight-loss with him dieting as well. I hope all of you are doing well.
