Hello all.....

Well, it's the end of my 4 day weekend and I'm wishing it wasn't over. We got SO much done in the yard. After the pool/spa got put in, there's such a mess back there. At least we have decking (cool deck) around the pool but the rest is a mudding mess. So we started making flagstone walk ways and flower beds. It's going to take quite a few weekends but it's starting to look good. Greg is going to build a deck off the back of the pool (the spa really) so that will really be nice......a nice wood deck with a bar.....

I bought Dr. Phils book too and joined the book forum here since that's the book they're doing. Anyone interested, it started today. I haven't gotten there yet but it's a week on the same chapters so come on over.....

Well, I'm pooped so I'm gonna go. Hope you all have a wonderful Monday. Talk to you's guys soon.

Love,
Me <><

Zoe,
I did join. I saw you on there. I am starting to read it today. I am going to really examine this.
I saw Jen over there too. Have y'all been watching the ultimate challenge on the Dr. Phil show? It is on Mon. and Tues. every week. Kind of like a reality show.
Your pool area sounds so nice. Have fun with it.

Zoe,
It's great that this site has started the book club forum.
Hey, sounds like we all need a ROAD TRIP TO ZOE'S POOL!!! I know it'll be beautiful when finished. You're working so hard on it, the payoff will be worth it.

Terri,
I began reading the book last night, a bit more today. I like it so far, it's just like listening to him speak, but directly to me this time.
I did catch his show yesterday, but missed Letterman Thanks for letting us know it's featured on Mon. and Tues...I was wondering.

Hi Girls

I haven't posted in a while. All is well. I haven't been OP but what else is new. I'm up 3 lbs. I have to get back on track. I'm going back tomorrow. I've been so consumed with Sammy. He got neutered today so I'm keeping a close eye on him. He seems to be okay. He's sleeping right now.

What exactly is the Ultimate Challenge? I've been seeing it alot.

Zoe, how's the pool coming along? Sounds like a lot of work but it'll be well worth it after it's all done. Are you on WW or Atkins/WW?

Gotta go. Pete's on his way home with Chinese food.

Till tomorrow.

Love you all,
Es

CUBS WIN!!!!
There are a lot of very happy people in town today They deserve it.

Yesterday we hosted Brandon's 8th birthday party here. It ended up being an overnighter also. Brandon had a great day. My niece and her 4 girls, and Jess, Mike and the boys all left by around 1:00 today. I'm sooo tired right now! My couch is calling, I think I'll take a nap after posting this.

Es, hope Sammy is doing well (ouch!) Hang in there. I've been struggling also....way too many temptations lately.

take care,
~Jen

Hi

Jen, Sammy is fine. He's back to chasing Susie. He is so cute I can't take it.

It's raining so hard today. I'm looking forward to Monday. Pete starts his new shift tonight. It's from 9:PM till 5:15 AM. He can stay home with Sammy while I go to Curves right after work. Monday has always been a fresh start for me. My Curves days are going to be Mon., Wed. & Friday.

Jen & Terri, are you still doing WW online?

I'll be back tomorrow.

Hi to the rest of the gang.

Hugs,
Es

Hi Everyone,

Hey Jen, the Red Sox are in too! Do you think it is remotely possible that they would both make it to the series?

Es, Has Pete been working a night shift for a while already? It seems like a really tough schedule to adjust to.

Hope alll is well with everyone, it seemed very quiet here this past week. I have been immersed in my mom's situation and didn't feel up to posting. She is going to be pushed out of the rehab this week, but we all feel that she is not ready yet. She still cannot get to the bathroom unescorted. How can they say she is ready to go home? My sister and I think she needs 24 hour care a little while longer, at least until she can use the walker with some stability.
I will be calling the social worker/case manager today.

In the meantime, I still love this new WW style of tracking. I did slip though in using it but I am determined to make it a habit. When I have been most succcessful at losing, I was pretty rigourous about using the food planner. I still haven't picked up Dr. Phil's book, I did peak at some of the discussions. It seems as if he forces people to face up to their issues honestly. I am a little afraid of knowing why I have a hard time succeeding at keeping the weight off. I will work up my courage eventually to get the book.

Exclamation Calling All Fab. 40's Girls!!!

Hi

I'm so down today. I weighed myself this morning & I'm up 5 lbs. since last month. It's my own fault. I haven't been following the program like I should be. I'm buckling down & I started fresh this morning. I'm going to Curves after work.

Sandy, so glad you're back. So sorry about your Mom. I hope they can do something about a longer stay or someone coming in to stay with her. Does her medical insurance cover a nurses aide?I'm not buying the Dr. Phil book. I'll never read it. I still haven't gotten to Bob Greene's book, Oprah's trainer. I'll get bits & pieces off the internet.

It has been very quiet around here. I hope our group isn't fading out. Come on girls, we've known eachother too long to opt out now. Let's get back with the program & exercising. Maybe we can start a journal/track so we can get ideas from eachother.

We will Never Give Up!!!

Hugs,
Es

Jen,
8 already?!?! I didn't realize that. Glad it was a great time.

Es,
Yes I am still doing Online. I like the journal and weight tracker.
The Ultimate challenge is a Dr. Phil feature. He is hgelping some people deal with losing weight. Figure out why they are fat. If you go on his site you can follow along and lose.

Sammy sounds so adorable.
I am with you Es. We need to get busy. The journal idea is a great one. Just get back on and those pounds will come off.
I just bought the Getting Started DVD fromthe meeting. I did the low intensity and the moderate twice I earned 3 Activity points.

Sandy,
These palces are always trying to speed things up to save money. It pi*** me off. They did the same thing to my dad.
It was awful. Keep after them. Good luck and hope she gets better soon.
As far as the tracking. Keep at it.

Well, I'll talk to y'all later.
Terri

I need to get more reading in on Dr. Phil's book, to get insight into my eating behavior. The ups and downs and restarts are doing me no good whatsoever. I cannot keep doing that.

Sandy, sorry to hear about the situation with your Mom. I hope you're successful in changing that situation, or getting her help of some type.

Hi to all,

Hi Terri

You always liked WW online. Since it's been hard for me to get to the meetings I was thinking on rejoining online. WTG with exercising. You've been my mentor since I started coming here. Your success has always motivated & inspired me. You are very special. When do you want to start the journaling. Remember you & Myra kept up with it? Do you still hear from her?

Sandy, Pete used to work from 1:PM to 9:00 PM but when he got overtime sometimes he wouldn't get home till 1 or 2 in the morning. We hardly ever saw eachother. Now his shift is from 9:00pm till 5:am which is great because I get to spend a few hours with him. His days off are Wed. & Saturday. They change shifts every 6 months. He likes the night shift because he gets the night differencial(sp?)

Well, let me go spend some time with my hubby before he goes to work.

I love you guys

Have a good night.

Till tomorrow
Es

Es,
You are sweet Es.
I will start one now. If anyone wants to join come on. I will put down my food and my exercise. Myra is in a couple of my groups. She is off and on. She is still really busy.
Have fun with Pete.

Jen,
I am printing out conversations in the book club so I can study it.

I will call it the Fab 40's journal!!!!!!!!

TTYL,
Terri

October 1st ! What happened to September?

Thanks to Terri and Es for the idea and implementation of our Fabulous Forties' and then some Journal thread
I promise to do my best in posting each day. Great accountability

We had our first frost last night...sigh.....

Finally signed the contract for the siding on the house to be done...after wrangling w/the ins. co. since August. The contractor can't begin the work till next month..November..busy with so many hail damaged homes in town. I'm just looking forward to a "new" house! We currently have the original mint (yuck) green siding. The new color will be clay, it'll look awesome.

Hope everyone's well. Dianne is probably having a blast in the Caribbean!!

later,
~Jen

Hi

Sandy, I was happy to see you over at the Journal thread.

Jen, I'm going to try & keep up with journaling. I have to remember to subtract. It's a very cool evening. This is one of my favorites months.

Today I turned down a HOT bagel at work. I love bagels!
A woman at Curves lost 29 lbs. & 35 inches. I asked her how she did it & she said exercise & Atkins. So many people I know are doing Atkins & the South Beach diet. I'll always be a WW.

Let me go eat my salad.

Have a good night my friends.

Love,
Es
