  • Hope everyone had a good day yesterday.
David gave me gift cards which I love!!!

Today I stayed OP. One down and more to go.
  • Good morning everyone! Hope everyone is good! I'm heading out for a walk. Then, laundry and grass mowing and lunch with another friend this afternoon. We aren't doing anything at the house today!!!!!! Bob is on 16 hours today.....

Tina - Bob's MRI.....(I'm sorry, I missed that you had asked) it showed a tear. He was going to get surgery in June. But..........he can't stay away from the remodel of the house and he has the opprotunity to work all this OT so he is going to "try" and put it off until Nov. (Then he will be off for Thanksgiving)

Have a great day my friends!
  • Tammy---Happy Birthday, yesterday!!!!!
  • Happy Birthday Tammy!

Hope all had a good Mothers Day. The hub didn't feel good, so we didn't do anything. One of my boys and his wife and baby stopped for awhile so I got my baby fix. Our other son lives about 70 miles away and with the price of gas, ick.
He did call and wish me HMD. Said he'll bring my gift when he comes down next week.

The house flipping sounds like fun. We did that once, a lot of work, but it was fun too.

Tina, yay for being healed up.

I was up .4 last week and down .8 this week. Hanging in solid right under 150. A minimum of 5 pounds to go and then I'll evaluate if I want to lose anymore or not. In the meantime I've started lifting weights. It's great to lose the weight, but I also lost the leverage these last 23 pounds gave me handling the big dogs at work. I need me some muscles!
  • Janelle I'm envious!!!! I would love to be down to 150ish.
    Keep it up!!!
  • Good morning,
We had rain last night!!!!! Yes, that wet stuff actually fell from the skies for quite a while. Now maybe we will all get more and those nasty wild fires will stop!

Maureen, have you gone to that fancy dinner yet? What did you buy to wear? (You may have told us but I forgot.)
Mimi, what tapes are you using now?
    Susan, how is your mother?
    Jeanne, how's the house project?
Janelle, are y'all still really busy at work? How's your husband feeling?
    Tammy, love you!
Dori and farmgirl, I haven't given up on hoping you two will post - soon!

  • hello! hello! You ladies sure are quiet! I know, everyone is so busy! I hope everyone is healthy and families are good!

We are busy busy! I was on the phone all day yesterday! There is soooooooooooo much to do!!!!! The contractor we had give us an estimate came in at .......(drum roll).........$38,500!!!! hahahahhahaha......are you stinkin' kidding me?!?!??!!?!? I almost threw up! Sooooo, we had another guy in that is going to "help" us do the project for wayyyyyyyyyyyyyy less!!!! He is starting the first of next week! The sewer is getting done tomorrow morning and the electrician is coming tom. afternoon. The plan is to be in by july 1st!

I'll keep you posted and after next week I will update with pictures on here or facebook. It is easier on fb because you can create an album so much faster.

    Have a great night ladies!

  • Happy Friday the 13th!

I didn't even know it was today. It never bothers me.
  • TGIF! I'm off tomorrow, yay!

The boss's wife, whose been off playing for the last 5 months blew into the office yesterday. She looked at the vet tech, looked at me, and then struck her "pose" and with a huge grin on her face said, "Wow, you guys have aged!"

It was all I could do to not slap that grin clear to China. Funny thing is, I'm only 5 months older than her.

I wasn't offended, just astonished, she could be so rude. I know shes very selfish and self centered, but geez.

Her comment reminded me of this joke.

    Southern Charm

Two informally dressed women happened to start up a conversation during an endless wait in the LAX airport.

The first lady was an arrogant California woman married to a wealthy man.

The second was a well mannered elderly woman from the South.
When the conversation centered on whether they had any children, the California woman started by saying, "When my first child was born, my husband built a beautiful mansion for me."

The lady from the South commented, "Well, isn't that precious?"

The first woman continued, "When my second child was born, my husband bought me a beautiful Mercedes-Benz.

Again, the lady from the South commented, "Well, isn't that precious?"

The first woman continued boasting, "Then, when my third child was born, my husband bought me this exquisite diamond bracelet.

Yet again, the Southern lady commented, "Well, isn't that precious?"

The first woman then asked her companion, "What did your husband buy for you when you had your first child?"

"My husband sent me to charm school," declared the Southern lady.

"Charm school?" the first woman cried, "Oh, my God! What on earth for?"

The Southern lady responded, "Well for example, instead of saying "Who gives a s**t?" I learned to say, "Well, isn't that precious"...
  • janelle - love it-
yes, Tina, our gala was 2 weeks ago. I just bought a dressy black skirt and a purple(light) glittery top. It worked out well.

I go to Calgary next saturday and stay with my oldest son & his wife for the weekend-it's a long weekend here in Canada. Sunday we'll be having brunch in Banff so be prepared for a lot of pictures-then they'll drive me up to Edmonton on the Monday. I'll be there until Saturday morning when I fly back to Ottawa.

I'm really looking forward to the holiday.

I hope we all have a great weekend

    later

  • Good Saturday Morning Everyone!

    Janelle - too funny!

Nothing new to report here, although it is only 8:30 a.m. haha!

I've been staying OP! I opted not to get on the scale this past week! I will this thursday tho! my diverticulosios has been acting up! I just can't do grapes and I'm thinking strawberries bother it too! (the little seeds)?!?

The furnace/ac guy is coming today to give us a bid at the new house for a new furnace! We are hoping to get the guys in there early this week to start tearing things up! We have a nest with baby robins in it on the back porch! I TOLD EVERYONE TO LEAVE THEM THERE AND LEAVE THEM ALONE!!! hahah! I said nobody will be living there until July sometime, so they aren't bothering anything! Next spring, I'll stay on the birds before the nest is made! We had a nest on the front porch too! lol! No eggs or babies in it tho, so we took it down. They had mud, grass and twigs everywhere! lol

Bob is still working 88 to 96 hours a week! He had an appt. with his knee dr. and they drained the fluid and gave him a shot. He was to have surgery in June, but can't stay away from the house project. Soooooooo, he is going to baby it until after we move and then get scheduled for knee surgery in Sept. or Oct.

Kaitlin has a "new" guy friend! lol! I'm not allowed to call him her boyfriend ....... yet..... lol! She is so funny! I am just glad she is moving on and stopped crying over Ben (the old boyfriend)!

Jessica's Ben is going on vacation with us this year! I have to say I am a little worried for him. I think the beach will be hard for him. He has MS but is still very "mobile".....(not sure if that is the word I want to use)! He still works and drives and stuff. He falls a lot tho! Jess said the guys he works with, just help him up and keep on going. They never ever give him a hard time. I'm thinking the sand and the steps at our condo will be tough for him.

Well, I better get on the laundry and tidy up "this" house! lol

Have a great day everyone and drink that water and shake that booty!
  • Wow, lots of information on here. Yea!!!

janelle, that's very funny. I was watching Food Network this morning and the woman was making her version of Southern pimento cheese sandwiches. She put everything in the food processor!!! It looked more like a dip. Then, she put mayo on the outside of the bread and grilled it!

Maureen, it sounds like you will have a great time. Yes, I can't wait to see pictures.

Jeanne, you have so much info to tell us. I'm so glad Kaitlin has a new "friend." Is Jess serious about your friend?
Tell us about your beach trip. Do you rent that condo every year?
Sorry you aren't feeling well. I've taken antibiotics for that.

    Tammy, how many more treatments?

    Susan, where are you????

Mimi, how is work? Does Dan like his job?

I went to Home Depot today and bought some mint. It smells soooooo good. I love it in my iced tea.
Everyone have a great rest of the weekend.
  • Hi all,
Is this a quiet Sunday for everyone? I can't believe that it's already 3 p.m. Where did the afternoon go?!?!?!

Tomorrow I must exercise by doing something!
In the morning, I will go for the LAST blood test of my coumadin/warfarin. I will take the medicine tomorrow night and then I will be FREE.
So, tomorrow I'm going grocery shopping for Vitamin K foods that I haven't been able to enjoy.
I will have salads and more salads and dark green veggies and red fruits, and let's not forget all the tomatoes I can hold. Can you tell I'm excited about eating......and it will be healthy.
I have gained some weight because I could not eat enough good things. I don't care that they say everyone can eat within reason. Hogwash. If you want your blood to remain thin enough, you just forgo a lot of things.

    Okay, I'm off my soapbox.
What is going on with everyone?
  • Good Sunday evening everyone!

    Long, quiet, boring day here!

Getting ready to watch extreme Home Make Over and then I'll try to stay awake until Bob gets home from work. I should be able to since I took a 3 hour nap today! lol

Finished up a Sweet Baby Depot order today, but....it has been very very quiet too!

    Well, have a great night!
  • I will not need to work out tomorrow. Spent 4 hours outside doing pre garden stuff.

Moved a big bed of Iris. Moved the mint, hub tilled the garden, planted the last of the liilies, planted the rosemary, elephant garlic, moved 4 raspberry bushes, I have a love/hate relationship with my shovel. Unloaded the fence, I got for free at the landfill. Fri nite, I hauled home some steel posts and borrowed the driver from my FIL to set some tresllis's for my climbing veggies. Woof, I'm feeling sore.

To top all of this off. The DH who had heart surgery in Jan and 1 follow up appt., since, has decided that since follow up care has been crappy, he would quit taking his meds. "can you say mind blowing stroke?" Can't convince him to start back up on meds and make an appt, with heart Dr. But he does have appt., with GP for another *pain*. Wants to ask for Viagra.

Dude, I love you, but you are 50+ years old, you have heart issues, Viagra, is not an issue right now. I just want you alive and healthy.

No wonder, I'm struggling with these lasr few pounds.
