Bandit, enjoy your boot camp. Let us know of anything new you pick up. And many thanks for letting us know the mileage/lap connection. You're doing awesome with all your walking!
I went to my meeting this morning. I was up 1.8# but last week I hadn't weighed in because I was up 5#because of two days of Chinese food. I'm trying hard not to play with all this stuff, and I do want to see the graph tracking line move downward. I had a good week, got on the 4x and I'm not quite sure why I didn't lose more weight. I think exercising after not exercising for a bit does lead to my retaining bloat the first week. Also at the movies I had some popcorn (very little) but it was super salty and that might have been enough to do the trick. The movie we saw was Slumdog Millionaire and I really liked it. Has anyone else gone to see it?
Okay, gotta run. This week I am concentrating on drinking the right amount of water per day as well as exercising on the
Good luck and : to us all!
Judy

I haven't seen Slumdog yet, Judy, but I plan to. I am going to a Bollywood film with a friend this weekend (the real thing); we have a theater here that shows lots of them. I love them!
I like your attitude about the treadmill, Judy. I went for a 2-mile walk this week which was nice, but I need to do it consistently.
How was boot camp, Bandit? Any good tips to share? DH used to live about an hour north of Toronto. It's pretty country up there.
MIL is doing much better; thanks so much for your prayers.
Have a great day, turtles.

Hi turtles:
Judy - nice job on your exercising & that weight gain will disappear in no time.
Also good to face the scale even though you know you are up. That is when we need those meetings the most, when we feel like avoiding them. Good for you!
Boot camp was great. I really got alot out of it - some real motivation for sure. There was a 2 hours session of nutrition/exercise/weight loss that was very interesting then a 1 hour session of workout. We were divided into groups & each group had their own trainer & the host went from group to group with advice.
He believes we should be focussing on "fitness" & weight loss will come. Make a better choice foodwise each day & get in some form of exercise and the motivation from feeling better & looking better will keep you going.
He said to avoid diets that eliminate entire food groups and we shouldn't be losing more than 2#/week maximum. As far as exercise he doesn't like anything where you sit or lie down. If walking, do same length but decrease the time taken to complete it.
I really got a kick out of meeting him, since I watch the show faithfully.
They gave us wristband when we signed in & I put that on my fridge, so I will see it every time I open the fridge looking for something to eat. That will be a reminder of my bootcamp evening.
Lots of fun & I really feel pumped to do better more than ever!

Lauren, glad MIL is doing so much better. : Also terrific that you got your walk in.
Today is sunny and nice. As soon as I finish this I'll be on my and planning the rest of my day.
Bandit, it is so wonderful that your Boot Camp worked out so well! Weigh to go. Thanks for the insights he offered and for getting greater momentum to keep on going and losing more weight.
My weight is down today : and it's my job to keep it down so I can have a good WI. Although we ate out twice over the last couple of days I made great choices. I also made a huge pot of WW veggie soup which is a 0 point godsend when I'm hungry and a meal shouldn't be in sight. LOL. In any case, I'm doing well. Today we're celebrating my dd's and we're heading to Outback for dinner. I know what to have there, but the challenge will be the ice cream bar she requested for dessert instead of a cake. DH bought all sorts of toppings which I love. I think I might put a banana in a plate (I'm not obsessed with ice cream) and put some selected toppings on that. I'll have to see. In any case we're planning on a good time. I heard from my son and he's not able to make it again. However, I think I have a plan to help him out and that's always a good thing.
Take care, be well, enjoy your weekend and keep on keepin' on. You guys are the greatest!
Love, Judy

Hi Turtles,
Well, I'm off to WI but don't think it will be smiley. I lost three pounds betweeen last Wed. and Sunday and then proceeded to put them back on +. Ugh.
I'll let you know the official. We had loads of snow here, but that's no reason to eat. I always feel better after my meeting but it's getting old to try hard, do well, mess up and stay where I was. Ugh.
Ariana, Princess, and Cherry==we miss you, please let us know how you're doing. Bandit==you're right. Lauren, keep on keepin' on.
Judy

Hi Guys!
Sorry that I have been off line for a long time now... but I am back now. Re-joined WW last Saturday after a huge and I mean HUGE gain... the whole no job, trouble with my son, etc just got to me and I really slipped back to my old ways.
The good news is that I have been placed on another project back at the company that I was at at the end of last year so things are looking up. I have rejoined and recommited to WW, my gain was huge, I felt like Oprah there for a while, I just could not believe that I had gained so much back but I did and it happened fast! Before I knew it over 20 lbs had been gained and I was heading for 30 lbs if I did not do something so I rejoined as soon as I heard that I had a job.
Things are still rough but it is no excuse to throw it all away.
I am very out of touch with everyone and will try and get online to read the missed posts but am just not sure when that will happen.
I have a corned beef brisket in the crock pot at home... I just put it in water and have it cooking, it is the first time for me... any cooking or serving suggestions from those of you that have cooked a brisket before?

Dear Princess,
You have no idea how many thoughts and prayers have been winging your way from me. Thank you so much for chiming in. I am so glad that you're on another project and I've got : coming your way. The sadness over your son and your job situation are completely understandable and that miserable "loss of control" over situations always gets me in trouble. Thanks for rejoining WW's, thanks for chiming in, don't worry about past posts from us, just chime in. As matter of fact I came online to start another thread, so I'll let everyone know that you are on thread #210 with good news. The weight gain would have happened to anyone in your boat and it will come off because you know what to do. Good luck and for letting us hear from you. You feel like a lifelong buddy to me.
As far as the corned beef brisket, simple mustard and horseradish served along side it do it for me. I like it with boiled potatoes and cabbage==real Irish style. If you have a regular brisket, an absolutely easy crock pot recipe for next time is to put the brisket in the crockpot, top it with two large sliced tomatoes (or an 8oz. can of tomato sauce, pepper and a little garlic) and let it cook up. It turns out delicious without any fuss. Good to have you back.
My WI wasn't even as good as I had hoped. I was up another .4# so instead of losing 3# this week I gained more. Ugh. Talking in my group one gal suggested staying off the scale and I know I have problems being consistent, so I'm aiming to work on both things this week. I know I won't be "perfect" but I aim to get in the healthy oil, milk, water (which I had been letting slide or really never did) and see how close to WW's I can get. And I'm aiming to get on the . Sounds like an overwhelming lot of stuff to handle, so I'll do the very best I can.
JUdy
