hello sunshines!

Dori - Hi.........oh yea, your surgery, isn't it around the 24th? I'll be on vacation from the 19th - 29th so I'll make sure to check right in when I get back to see how you are feeling!!!!! I wish I could be with you too!

Tina - Hi!!! I'm soooooo addicted to the WW frozen treats! I buy them all!!!! Being sick, they are an easy fix for my stomach! My kids.........yea, they keep me pretty busy, but because they are 21 & 16 - they are pretty independent and don't "need" me as much! lol! The girls and I go to the beach every year together for just "girl time". We love it. This year we are flying since I've been under the weather. Usually we drive. It is an 12 hour drive and it takes the 3 of us like 15 hours, because we have to stop and pee and refocus our directions again! hahaha! We joke every year, but still do it. Flying will be refreshing!

Hi Tammy - I sure hope Bob is feeling better soon! You take it easy too! Don't get run down!

Well everyone....... have a super day and talk to you later! I don't have a loss to report today because I "forgot" to WI this morning. So, I'll check tom. morning and post on the Thurs. WI!

Hugs

Hi friends,
Sorry I haven't posted in a couple of days. Again, I'm not being notified of posts. I should know that y'all are talking.

Jeanne, did they ever find out exactly what was wrong? Was it diverticulitis?
I know about older "kids" because my son is now 34. Wow, that makes me feel old. Of course, I was a child mother.

Tammy, I am so sorry about Bob's legs/feet/ankles. Men, we can't do much with them, can we!
No, you didn't tell us that Tim was getting an apartment. He doesn't want to be a PA anymore? Was it because he had such a rough time of it?
What does his gf think of the apartment idea?

Dori, let us know how you are doing?
Maureen, have you been roller blading this week?
weemiss, how is school?
beach bum, how are you?

Okay, all the birthday cake has been eaten. We'll have almost a week before Larry's cake. Another cake!!!
Everyone have a fabulous weekend.

Susan, where are you?????

Hi Tina! Figured out whats wrong with me.............ha!
Well Diverticulosis is a disease where there are sacks present in your large intestine, if they become irritated (which mine were inflammed bulging on the walls of my intestine and bleeding) they will block your intestine causing severe pain. Obviously! Well, that was my orginial diagnosis. Then like two days after that they called me and set up an appt. with a GI Specialist. I saw him a week or so ago and he said that there may be more than meets the eye. He said that Diverticulosis is sometimes mis-diagnosed because of the size of sack and location. So......................July 15th I am having some surgery to remove the sacks to see if they are cancer or polyps. There is still a chance that it is Diverticulosis. My eating habits have changed tremedously to help ease the pain. It really isn't the way I want to lose weight. At least on a diet, you "can" cheat or work in those extra points for pizza or something fried. This..........you just can't! You are to aftaid of the pain afterwards.

Well, I better get some house work done. I think I'm going to attempt my Yoga and Leslie Sansone DVD today.

Thanks for asking!
Love
~jeanne

Hi everyone!!!! Hope you are having a nice weekend!

Jeanne, I am soooo sorry you are having to go through surgery. Can I come sit in the waiting room? Really, I wish I could, but, PA way too far away.

Tina, I knew you were a mere child when your son was born. Me too! Tim just turned 20.

We received Bob's test results yesterday afternoon. Most of them were the same, but the ones that are of concern (liver enzymes) were higher than in March. We go to the liver specialist on Friday, so we will know more then. I am trying to stay positive, but it isn't easy when the test results show a rise.

Tim isn't going to be an RA partially because it was such a pain AND because his grades took a nosedive. Not good! He had decided he was just going to take a couple classes and then he would have his associates degree. He is so close to finishing his bachelor's. We had a family meeting about it. He will continue for his bachelors, he is reducing his hours both semesters this year, he'll take classes next summer, do his internship/independent study in the fall of 2009, and graduate in December 2009.

The apartment was kind of an incentive to going back to school. He honestly considered just not even going back at all. The cost for the apt. is about the same as the dorm, he'll have more privacy, etc. It is owned by the university. It's mainly families, faculty, and upperclassmen, so he'll fit in since he's a junior.

His gf thinks it's fine because she knew how frustrated he was with the RA/dorm situation. Her dorm is on the north end of campus this year, so they'll be about the same distance apart as last year. There are buses that run to the apt. complex constantly, so he won't have to walk all the time. He is also planning to take his bike.

We went to garage sales on Thursday and bought a few things. He's excited.

Bob bought a cake the other day at the grocery, and most of it is still on the counter. I guess that's a good thing, right??

Jeanne, I wish you weren't facing the surgery. We will keep you in our prayers. I just wrote the date on my calendar that I keep beside the computer.

Sure hope we hear from Susan soon!!!

I have returned from MIA!!! Let me tell you........ it has been crazy.

I got out of school last Wednesday. Thursday, got my haircolored and stopped for my allergy shots. Saw the PA in the hall and we were talking and told her about my nose. She wanted to see it, then she wanted the dr. to see it (not my dr because he was in lock down at the hospital). That dr. said "You need to have a CT scan." I was almost in tears!!!! As I was getting ready to leave, I saw my dr coming in. I said to the PA "he will know about my nose, he has seen it." Told him the story, and he looked and said "nope you are fine and STOP getting punched in the nose." He knows my job! That was 2 hours later.

Went to see Pat's band play on Saturday, got home at 4 am. Then got on a plane at 4 pm to go to my folks.

I hate to say it but my parents are getting old. Daddy is having to use a walker all the time now. His Parkinson's really is getting worse. He doesn't sleep at night. My mom doesn't sleep because of my Daddy. She has scolosis and arthrititis and is stubborn as a MULE. Daddy paces ALL night long. I slept on the couch so I could be in the room with him. I would just close my eyes and he would say "Susie, are you awake?" "Yes, sir! Can I get you something?" I think he just didn't want to be alone. It would go on ALL night long. I think I slept about 2 hours a night. My mom did get some sleep but then slept on the loveseat. I kept saying "Momma go to bed!!! It will make your back feel some better." Oh yeah, Daddy wanted snacks about every 30 minutes and wanted me to eat with him. I just love him to death!!!!! SO his baby, would get up and fix him whatever it was he wanted. I would walk over HOT SHARP COALS for him and he knows it. I would my Mom too but I'm definitely a Daddy's girl.

Oh and I drove everyplace and I chuckled under my breath because I knew where I was going but he had to tell me every move.... even from changing lanes.

I got home yesterday. Thought I would get to rest. Pat went out to mow and I did a few chores. Thought I was getting Bobbie the new kitty today but it has been around another kitten that has intestinal worms and will be on antibiotics for 10 days. I said "we will get him next week." All we need to do is expose our sick cat to that.

So for a restful afternoon, I scrubbed the carpets and cleaned the oven. I laughed when Pat said "Are you going with me tonight." I really thought I would be in bed but I'm still going. Guess that's because my internal clock is off.... Thanks Daddy!! I could call him. I did send him an email.

I had a slight melt down sitting in my house of disaray. All the furniture is on the tiled part so there really isn't a place to sit. I got to thinking about Father's Day. One about how much he means to me. Then about Seamus, after tearing up he brought a big smile to my face. How lucky I was to have held an Angel!!!!

Tina, How was that birthday cake? When is Larry's?

Tammy, I'll say extra prayers about Bob's liver appointment.

Jeanne, When is your surgery?

Dori, Your surgery is coming up soon? Know we are all thinking about you!! Prayers being sent your way.

I'm back on track diet wise. I'm gonna lose something!!!!! I'm back to the gym on Monday and Pat and I are going to walk. We are going hiking over vacation.

Ok, now you know..... I won't be a stranger.

:hugs: Hugs to you all!!!

Susan, it is about time you got back with us!! Glad you were able to spend time with your folks. It has to be hard on you, but I know how much they appreciate seeing you and having you there.

Not much going on here today. Tim is working, Bob is in the living room watching a race on tv. Yesterday he slept most of the day, so this is good that he is awake. He also drove uptown and visited with some people at the American Legion for a while. That is rare anymore for him to leave the house and go uptown.

It's so frustrating----I'm not getting a message that y'all have posted. I will do better about just looking!!!

Tammy, I am so sorry about Bob's results. You know that y'all are in my prayers. I wish I was there to give these in person.

Susan, it's about time you checked in. We were all worried about you.
Your parents had to enjoy your visit. It's no fun being the "parent" to our parents, is it! I'm sorry things are not better.

Jeanne, how was your weekend?
Dori, how are you doing?
Maureen, is your home computer working?

We had a good Father's Day. Except, Larry turned his right knee while walking down the steps. Now it's so sore. We just stayed inside all afternoon. He's taking Advil for it now.
Oh, it was 99 today with a heat index of 102.
Susan, I'll bet it was hotter up there.

Everyone stay OP tomorrow.
Love,
Tina

Hi everyone!

A very quiet w/e here! I did get some exercise in, which is a first in forever! Today, I took a sneak peak and I am down to 228#!!!!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHH! I hadn't moved the scales this last week at all, but I added that "little" bit of exercise and taa-daa! I won't make my vacation goal, but I'll take what I got!

Tammy - I'll keep Bob and your family in my prayers!

Gotta run, I have a full schedule this week because of leaving for vaca on Friday! Woohoooo!

hugs

Ladies,

I'm doing well. I weighed in this morning and lost 3.4 lbs. My surgery is scheduled for next Monday. Tomorrow I go to the urologist to determine if I need just a bladder tack or a sling. Thursday is pre-op and then I plan on trying to relax for the weekend. We'll see what happens though.

Jeanne - Sorry that you are having such a rough time. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

I think we all need to get away from everything!!!

Dori, how long will you be in the hospital? I hope it won't be long before you'll be able to let us know how you feel.

Jeanne, where are you going on vacation? Take us all with you.

Tammy, how is Bob today?

Susan, I'll bet you are sleeping today.

Maureen, I miss you. How's your computer?

I did good OP today. There's hope for a good weigh-in this Thursday. Maybe!

Tina, how is Larry's knee?

Thanks for keeping our family in your prayers. Bob mentioned the other night that he was going outside to just look at the moon, because he doesn't think he has many more moons to see. I hope the doctor will be able to give us some answers or some hope when we see him on Friday.

I am still taking the aerobics class 3 mornings a week, and yesterday I started a water aerobics class 40 minutes after the aerobics class. I am probably the youngest one in the water class, and I'm 53! It's pretty mild compared to what I'm used to doing at the Y here in town, so I'll have to step it up a bit. In the aerobics class I'm one of the oldest, and I have to tone it down! lol

Bob has taken a couple of walks today, and he has been eating. I have chicken in the crock pot for supper, so hopefully he'll be in the mood for it when it is done. Sometimes I get something made, and then he doesn't want it.

Well ladies, I went to the urologist today and I will be having a bladder sling done at the same time I have my hysterectomy. I'm a little nervous, but I'm sure everything will be okay. I will have to stay in the hospital overnight and I will try to post as soon as I feel up to it.

My goodness, Dori
I'd think they'd keep you a couple of days. I guess that's insurance for you.

You will be fine! It's good that they can do it at the same time.
We are all pulling for you.
