Lightbulb Thursday Chatter for October Pumpkins

Happy October to one and all,
This thread is for those who weigh-in on Thursdays; those who used to weigh on Thursdays; those who are thinking about weighing on Thursdays----you get the idea.
It is a great group and we would love to have more join.

I had a good OP weekend. We ate out twice but I made good choices.
Today, it's time to clean bathrooms and walk on the treadmill. Fun, huh!

Now it's y'all's turn to post.

Had weigh in last Thursday and gained 5. I was expecting it though because I had fallen off the wagon. However, I started back OP today and I'm doing great. I'm looking forward to a loss this week. Hope everything is doing great on this wonderful first day of October.

good morning!

Dori, I'm glad you got back OP. You are not alone. he..he..he..

I got lots of cleaning done yesterday. Plus, I walked one mile on my treadmill. I was bushed afterwards. As you know, it's hard getting back into exercise after even a short period off. Mine was almost 6 weeks.

Have a great day!

Dori, I think we have all been on and off program lately. We'll get back into it, right?

Tina, I agree about getting back into the exercise. I haven't been to water aerobics since a couple weeks ago with Bob coming home and now TOM. I'm sure I'll be totally pooed next week when I do get to go.

He felt like a new man last night without the oxygen. I was hoping that they would either reduce what he was on or take him off completely. Now we need to call the company to come and pick up all of the oxygen stuff.

He had PT yesterday afternoon. He was tired afterwards, and he was sore last night. He goes again tomorrow, and he also has an appointment with the liver specialist.

I'm volunteering at the soup kitchen today, and then I have a chiro appt. My back feels pretty tight this morning between the shoulder blades.

Hope you are all having a great week!

Hi all,
Chantal, have you left on your Paris trip?????

Susan, you are very quiet.
Amy, Sis, Terry, Maureen, everyone, where are you??? (sorry if I can't remember everyone's name at the moment)

I'm totally exhausted at the moment. I got up early to eat, exercise and shower before going to bathe my mother (before the home health nurse came). I hope the nurse was coming--she didn't call that she wasn't. I waited for an hour. Oh well, maybe she was delayed. They don't give out phone numbers!!!!!

Tammy, what kind of PT is Bob getting? I know you are both happy about the oxygen leaving. It sounds like he's feeling better and better each day.
You, my friend, need some relaxation. I hope the chiro helps you today.

We all need to meet at a spa and relax.

Tina, I hope you were able to get some rest yesterday.

Bob is doing therapy to strengthen his upper body and his legs. His strength is about shot. He was used to getting out and walking a few miles every day. Right now, he would be lucky to get in 1/2 a mile before he'd have to quit.

We go to the liver specialist this morning. Lots of questions to ask.

We received another letter from the insurance company. They are going to cover the entire hospital stay! They received more info from the doctors and changed their minds. Relief!

Happy Thursday,
I didn't rest yesterday but will try today. Not much going on.
Since I can't wear sandals all winter, I'm thinking about going shoe shopping today.
Tammy, that is great about the insurance taking care of everything. Those companies!
Please let us know what the liver specialist says.

If you haven't been to the Weigh-In Results thread lately, get over there. Some of us have decided to challenge ourselves this month. Maybe you will want to do it, also.

Tina, how was the shoe shopping??? Hope you find some that were just perfect!

The appt. yesterday with the liver doctor was productive. We met with the physician's assistant, and she was great! She has relatives with the same problem as Bob, and a couple of them have died. She really laid it on strong to him, and I honestly think he appreciated it. She did tell him that he hasn't been fair to me or to our son. He said he realized that. They cut him back on the diuretics, so maybe he'll stop losing weight.

Default This is Wierd!!!!!!!!!

Hey, There is no Weight Watchers Forum anymore.:(
I read something that said so many forums made it too confusing. Hmmm.....
Now, we are under something called, "Diet Central."
Hopefully, everyone can find us.

Tammy, I did go shoe shopping but only came home with some black Easy Spirit tennis shoes. I need some dressy flats, too. Maybe on Monday...
How is Bob doing this weekend? Did Tim get to come home or is he working?

Susan, girl, where are you?

Terry, we haven't heard from you in ages.
Dori, are you doing okay?

Some of our group have just disappeared and I miss them.

Maureen, isn't this Canada's Thanksgiving season?

I've been indoors all day with a runny nose and watery, swollen eyes. I'm sure it's allergies.
At least, this has made me very careful about drinking my water. I drank 7 glasses of the stuff yesterday. Today, I got 8 glasses down. I might swim faster than my tracker fish.
Everyone have a great Sunday.

Tina, even one pair of shoes is better than none, right??? Hope you find some others today. Hope your allergies are better today! Tim was miserable with his yesterday morning. The field across the road from here was being combined, so that was most of his problem.

Bob did ok over the weekend. We went to church yesterday morning, but it was a mistake. We had to leave before it was over. It was all he could do to sit up that long with the ride to get there. maybe we'll try again in a couple of weeks. I've been going, but he wanted to go yesterday. He still isn't eating much. He needs to gain 25 pounds at least.

My nephew went with me to the football game on Sat. He used Bob's ticket. It was 90+. My face is still pink! Sunscreen? Who would have thought I'd need sunscreen in Ohio in October?

Tim worked Fri. night and had Sat. night off. He surprised Bob and came home after he finished up with the band stuff after the game! Bob was thrilled! I knew earlier in the week, and I kept my mouth shut!!!! That was VERY hard to do. That was the first they had seen each other since the weekend Bob came home from the hospital. Tim couldn't believe how thin he was. Bob was still swollen when Tim saw him last, and he has lost almost 20 pounds since then. Tim kept encouraging him to eat Sat. night and all day on Sunday. Maybe he'll be up a pound when he weighs this morning. He didn't weigh over the weekend.

Busy week. Chiro appts., Bob's PT, volunteering 3 mornings at local Christian radio station, water aerobics. Also a funeral. The older brother of a friend of mine passed away on Sat. They found out he had cancer about the same time Bob got sick. Kent was only 57. His sister and I have been friends since junior high, and this is her last year of teaching PE where I retired. He was such a wonderful person. I had his daughters when they were 2nd graders. They are both out of college now and working. Bob mentioned feeling guilty because he is still alive and he did the damage to himself. Kent is gone, and he had no control. I think Bob realizes just how lucky he is to be alive.

Happy Monday to everyone!

Susan, it doesn't seem like it's been 3 years. My heart still aches for you and Pat. You know we are all here for you.

Tammy, I'm so glad Bob is doing so much better. It's great that he wanted to attend church. His strength will increase and he'll be able to stay for the whole service, in no time. I'll bet it was a nice surprise for Tim to show up.
I know Bob enjoyed it.
Bob will have many emotions. Some will probably take you by surprise.
You are doing such a good job. I'm proud of you!

I was sick with allergy mess all weekend and today. It's some better. Larry took me to the cafeteria for supper. I even ate all veggies. How healthy is that!

Hi,
Ok I'm an idiot! I just realized I had been posting on the weigh in thread. I think I'm losing it! Maybe I lost it.

Tammy, I do think the trainer is meant to be this time. I will let you know how it goes tomorrow. I have my first appointment with her. Bob sounds like he is getting stronger and stronger. Ya'll are in my prayers.

Tina, Did you get to talk to the nurse? How are you feeling these days?

Did I mention that I'm teaching a sign language class on Tuesday evenings? Then we have the high school homecoming parade on Wednesday. I'm ready for the weekend already.

It's Baack! Mauvaisroux, our forum moderator, put a sticky back on our photo thread. That means that it's always at the top of the list. (For some reason the sticky had been removed a few weeks ago.)
In another week, I'll start our new photo thread and everyone will be hearing from me.

Tammy, how is Bob today?
Susan, you are one busy person now. Be sure to let us know how the personal trainer works out.
To answer your question, no, I never talked to the nurse because I was so much better on Monday. Today, I don't have any remnants of the "yuck." I'm very glad.

How are we all doing???

Tina, Bob ended up at the doctor yesterday morning. The doctor prescribed a pill to help stop some of the itching and to help him sleep. I think it is helping, so maybe he'll be able to get some rest. He hasn't eaten nearly enough today. He's only up to 1400 calories, and he should have twice that. He has slept quite a bit, so I hope to get him to eat again later. Eating all vegies! WOW!! Glad you are feeling better.

Susan, sounds like a busy week for you!

I had so much fun volunteering for the radio station pledge drive this morning. I received a call from a man who pledged $1000!!!! I told him I loved him! He was cracking up. I also lost the back of an earring during that call. Just got too excited!! lol

I need to go get ready for water aerobics. It is really different weather than Monday when I went. I wore shorts and a t-shirt then. Tonight it is jeans and a sweatshirt. It's a bit nippy out there!!!!
