Lap Swimming

I don't know how many of you swim much but apparently I'm not bouyant or aquatic! My friend (the MRC person I wrote about) that I work out with - I'll call her "G" - and I went to the Air Force Base and swam laps in their pool. I've never been a lap swimmer and always thought it would be an easy workout. I am so proud of her. I'd own on land but she swam circles around me!!! We took a ten second heart rate and hers was like, 16 - mine was 32!!! I don't know if it's because I get nervous when I swim because I don't like water splashing on my face or what but she threw down!!! It was awesome! Since we're going on a "couple" cruise together in early December, I decided I need to swim every week after that heart-rate extravaganza! And I'm sore today...sweet goodness, what a work out. For those of you who want to change up your exercise routine, hit the pool!!!

Yes!

My son who is 7 swims on a swim team. I took him to a pool for practice a few weeks ago and I had to get in with him since the water was deep (liability issues I guess). I was SPENT after 3 laps! He swam 7!!!!

He has the cutest muscular pecs and rock hard abs, arms and legs... I am thinking about starting it myself. It obviously has him hard as a brick.

Let me know if you have any tips about getting started.
