Default Jump Into January Challenge-Week 1

Ok, so here is my idea... Starting officially January 1 (b/c I still am doing Christmas Parties LOL)

Pick some goals...simple ones (drink X amount of water, exercise X number of times, check in X number of times a week, track daily ect)

For each day you meet that goal award yourself 1 point

Check in by Sunday night with your point total (or daily if you'd like) and Monday I'll post the points on a new thread

Then at the end of the month we'll tally our points and start a new challenge trying to beat the score from the previous month.

I think creating daily/weekly goals keeps the target small enough we can hit it and carrying the challenge from month to month will keep us focused. We're not competeing against each other but instead ourselves!

My Goals week 1
1) Track daily (7 points possible)
2) Do the 5 week Walking Plan (7 possible points)
3) Drink 3 cups of water a day (starting small) (7 points possible)
4) No eating after 8 pm (7 points possible)

Total points possible-28

Ok day one...feeling psyched LOL I found a 5 week walking plan on MSN. It starts out very slowly, but so far it only gives one week's worth of assigments, so we'll see how it goes for future weeks. But Slow is good!

I am halfway through today's water goal. I think starting at 3 cups after not being much of a water drinker these last months is a good idea for me. 3 seems doable, 6-8 not so much.

Well best of luck! I am off to talk DH into letting me get a new pedometer AND art classes, we'll see. Have a great day!

walk on treadmill at least 10 minutes per day (7 poss)
journal points daily (7 poss)
total- 21 pts. possible

Hey there and welcome back Donna!

I had a big post typed in and then lost it...dang it, I hate it when that happens. Anyway I haven't checked in for a few days, haven't been the greatest but today was good so I won't complain. I need to think of some goals and will start this challenge tomorrow.

I was just looking over everyone's goals and it is great that we are starting small and working up. It makes it difficult to set really high goals because it feels like being set up for failure. I was going to start small as well and then I stepped on the scale this am and I am up 2 lbs. Not that I was expecting a loss because my eating has been terrible but still it was a kick in the rear. I'm still starting small but not quite as small as I was initially intending.

My January goals:

1) 1L of water/day
2) food journalling
3) stick to Dr. Phil rapid start food plan
4) 15 minutes of intentional excercise daily

Good morning! I did not track at all yesterday, I drank tea and Pepsi and NO water and I did not do my workout. My stupid ankle hurts again. Every time I start walking to lose weight it starts acting up. I thought with the short workouts it wouldn't be bad, but I have been on my feet alot latley.

So for friday I earned 1 point I did not eat after 8 pm.
