Default Reading awesome book - Ultrametabolism by Mark Hyman

This is blowing me away. I've never read a book that says exactly what I believe about metabolism and calories and whole foods. I'm only on the second chapter and I am just gobsmacked.

Sample quote:

"Whole foods evolved with humankind for thousands of generations. Our bodies adapted to them and they adapted to our bodies. The calories you consume that come from whole foods speak to your genes in their native tongue. Your DNA knows exactly what to tell your metabolism to do to use these foods in the most efficient and healthy manner possible.

Whole foods are not tainted with unhealthy fats and refined carbs or manmade elements that your body has no idea how to process properly."

The excerpt at Amazon is the first chapter - Starvation Myth - it's exactly what experiences with 20 years of dieting and my body's reaction have led me to believe on my own. It's just so weird to read my thoughts in a book!
