Question Sprouted Lentils?

My mom came over for dinner last night. I made the salmon, and she brought the salad. In with the salad, she had a bunch of sprouted lentils. Has anyone ever heard of this before? They didn't taste bad, but I just wasn't sure if this was a bonafide nutritional supplement to the salad, or if it was just Mom experimenting again.

You can spout all kinds of things - many taste better than others!

I love sprouted lentils and eat them in different types of salads. I found that it took me a couple of batches of sprouting before I got used to the raw taste of lentils, beans, some nuts and peas. I prefer to have a mixed batch of sprouts rather than just one thing. There are many websites that sell sprouting supplies and sprouting mixes. So the answer to your question: yes, sprouting lentils is a real thing that people do. I'd be happy to share recipes if there was any interest.
