I recently discovered cut hearts of palm . Although it is in a can, it is a real unaltered food and best of all, hearts of palm gives salads that little kick of smooth, slightly salty creamy cheese like addition. So you get the mouth feel that a chunk of cheese might add to a salad but without the fat, lactose, calories !!

I love hearts of palm!!! They also come in glass jars, which I think tastes better.
