Clean Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe

Hello! I am in need of a good, I mean really good, clean choco chip cookie recipe that is not too hard to make. I am the only one in my house that knows what the word clean means when it comes to eating, so I am going to slowly make some changes and would love to start here. Thanks!!!!

That would be amazing if someone found something for this. You should look on Pinterest! I pin loads of healthy "cheat" foods on there all the time. I bet that site would have something. I'll be subbing this thread just in case you (or someone else) find(s) a good one before I do. :)

What are the parameters of your version of clean? The concept of clean I know, I can't imagine a chocolate chip cookie recipe.

If you allow things like whole wheat flour, dried fruits and dark chocolate chips, then it might not be hard to modify a recipe. I'd say though that it might be better to just concentrate on the rest of your diet and eat a regular chocolate chip cookie once in a while.

I HIGHLY recommend www.thegraciouspantry.com for clean eating recipes, including cookies! I get almost all of my recipes that I don't think of myself from that site, there are so many varieties and twists you can put on the recipes you choose as well!

I love the gracious pantry! She has some awesome recipes.
I am so addicted to food blogs. I found this one on one of my blogs I follow. I don't have enough posts to post links. so I copied and pasted the recipe. The credit goes to posh foodie
I have been searching for a really good clean chocolate chip cookie recipe. I finally found one for peanut butter balls made with chick peas that I converted into a chocolate chip recipe. This recipe makes a small batch, about 10 cookies (40 calories each) and calls for stevia. If you don’t like the stevia taste, you can substitute 1 tbsp of agave and add 6 calories per cookie

Pre-heat the oven to 350 degrees.
Blend:
-1 cup of rinsed and dried garbanzo beans (pat them dry with a paper towel)
-1/2 dropper of liquid stevia or to taste (or 1 tbsp of agave)
-1 tbsp peanut butter
-1 tsp vanilla extract
-1 tsp of cinnamon
-1 tsp baking powder
-1 tbsp of unsweetened vanilla almond milk
-2 tbsp of egg white

Taste the batter to see if it’s sweet enough, if not, add a little more stevia or honey. Stir in about 15 dark chocolate chips once the cookie dough is mixed. Spoon out onto a greased cookie sheet, bake at 350 degrees for about 15-18 minutes or until they are not super soft. Store in the fridge.

Are you grain free/paleo? I'd still be more apt to use whole wheat flour instead of something like coconut flour but again, it depends on if you are grain free or not.

This recipe looks good as a single serving recipe and has a grain free (almond flour) and gluten free (oat flour) option as well.
http://www.topwithcinnamon.com/2013/...ariations.html

1 1/2 tsp coconut oil (or butter, or any neutral oil)
1 tbsp brown sugar, coconut sugar or cane sugar (make sure it's vegan if you need to)
1 tbsp maple syrup (the real, good stuff por favor)
1/4 tsp vanilla extract
1/8 tsp fleur de sel/kosher salt/ maldon (plus more for sprinkling) (you can use regular salt in the dough too, just don't sprinkle it on top and use a little less)
1/8 tsp baking powder
2 tbsp + 2 tsp white whole wheat, whole wheat or all purpose flour
1 to 2 tbsp chocolate chips or chopped chocolate (vegan if needed. I go for 70% upwards because I LOVE bittersweet chocolate!)

Put the first 4 ingredients into a ramekin/any small oven proof dish thing. Put onto a cookie sheet and then into an oven which is preheating to 350 degrees F, for 1 minute (just so the coconut oil melts).

Add the salt, baking powder, and flour - stir in (easier if your ramekin/dish has high edges. If it's too hard to mix, just pour the contents into a small bowl, mix and smooth into the ramekin/dish).

Smooth the dough in the dish and scatter over the chocolate chips, pressing them in slightly. Sprinkle on some fleur de sel and bake for 7-10 minutes, until golden brown but still squidgy in the centre. Eat while still warm.

Even though I didn't start this thread, I appreciate the answers! I like that there are gluten free ways of making cookies. I recently developed gastritis and had to switch to gluten free everything. I don't eat cookies often, even before I decided to eat healthy, but that'd be a great treat every now and then!
