Default Choosing a Goal

I have a question for all my WW peeps. In order to hit Lifetime, does your goal have to be within the "average weight" they suggest? For me it is between 106-132. The skinniest I ever was in college was 140 and I was happy there, but I also really want to get lifetime. Can I choose my own lifetime goal at 140 or would I have to maintain a max of 132 in order to qualify for Lifetime?

I thought your "goal" weight had to be in the "healthy" range... Which WW pretty much bases on the BMI to achieve "Lifetime" and that you have to stay within 2lbs of that weight at every weigh-in... Which I was never able to do consistently, because my weight naturally fluctuates within a 4lb range (which I've later come to learn is perfectly normal for most people) But I was told that if you brought in a Dr's note with a higher "goal" weight that you could use that...

Hi tehshort1... I should have also said that I am not WW expert... (maybe why I never became a Lifetime member... lol...) So hopefully, someone else will jump in here and let us know what the "official" WW rules are on all of this... because I'm curious too... and I definitely wouldn't mind finally becoming one...

I totally read your healthy range wrong. So if you saw my previous post please ignore.

If you want to set a goal weight outside your healthy range you need to bring in a drs. Note saying that eg 140 is a good gw for you. Otherwise your gw would need to be at least 132. Then you can weight in at 134 to 130. If you want to lose more after you reach lifetime that is usually fine.

So tripswitch's info is correct as far as I know.

So, if I set my goal weight at the high end of the chart that WW gives am I free to go to the low end of the chart and still stay in Lifetime?

Teresa- yes that is my understanding that is why people set a high weight watchers goal. You do have to maintain your ww goal for 6 wks before you get lifetime so it has to be a bit realistic. You can't try to loose during that time. Being on this end of maintaining I would suggest picking a weight in the healthy range that you are happy with and kind of just land on. I did not set my ww goal until about 3 lbs before I hit it. My range was 164- 132. At 160 I asked about setting my goal, she said I could set it at 160 and be done then but I set it at 157.

hope you don't mind me jumping in here. i am 5#s from goal. WW has mine at max 141. my doctor says no way. he set me at 165 for them. they have taken it. when i get there i have to maintain 2#s up or down for 6 weeks, than go lifetime. after 6 weeks if i want to drop more i can. i just can't go 2#s above 165. my doctor has agreed with this. he says this will be my new starting weight. we will adjust as we see fit. i have heard, (haven't been official told yet) that if you aren't in WW range you can't work for them. i wanted to. but, i have also heard it's not true. they said i will get to talk to higher ups when i hit the end of 6 weeks. i will get a big tado about it, cause it's over 100#s.
hope this helps you.
