Default AppleBee's

Okay I am taking my kids to dinner tonight and the lesser of most evils eating out is AppleBee's since they have a WW friendly menu and the new under 550...

What has everyone had and liked? I get really flustered with food choices and wonder if i will like it and then am scared if I am not sure and order something I do know (usually not healthy).

Thanks

Applebee's has a fabulous Weight Watchers menu. The last time I was there, I had the Garlic Sirloin and it was delicious. I hated the potatoes that came with it, they were very blah. Next time, I will sub in an order of steamed veggies.

The Sirloin is amazing! I second this

I usually get the one that comes with the 2 for 20 though, because I go with my fiance. The mashed potatoes that come with it stink, but I never thought of substituting it out. I'll have to try that next time.

The Chili Lime Chicken is excellent. Highly recommend!

Or, if you have a wing craving, you can eat half an order of the boneless Buffalo wings appetizer for around 570 cals. Yum!

EDIT: Actually, here's the PDF of nutritional info (looks like a half order of the wings is actually 585, my bad!)

Be super careful, as they use a LOT of salt! I always feel kinda icky after I eat there. I have gotten the sirloin before and I liked it (but like I said, way too much salt), and I always order a side of vegetables, steamed. And I always order a side salad in the beginning with a side of dressing. I like to dip my fork and then take a bite of salad, so you get the flavor but hardly any dressing.

It can definitely be done, but still be wary of the WW menu because there's still a ton of sodium in them.

Be careful if you're not ordering from the WW menu. I got the steak from the 2 for 20 menu. It was fine within the calorie budget besides the vegetables! they were coated in butter. If you're getting veggies, be sure to order them without butter.

My husband and I were there yesterday! I ordred the Oriental Grilled Chicken Salad without dressing (I brought my own sprayable ranch). This was a half order and 9 points.

Well I did okay...I ordered a 7oz sirloin, steamed veggies & crispy red potatoes (only ate 1/2 of this) so that was a total of 9 points...but then I caved into the sweet & spicy boneless wings but I did point them and I will really be guzzling my water today to flush out the sodium.
