General Question about Goals/Maintenance
I'm not at goal yet. I joined WW 10 weeks ago through work and have lost 16 pounds. I have not discussed my goal yet with my meeting leader. My healthy range is 124-155. I am currently at 166 and feel like I have more than 10 pounds to go before I look and feel optimal. However, I can't remember ever being below 150ish when I was younger, so I don't want to set a goal so low that I can't reach it. My question is, if I set my goal at 150 and start surpassing it, what do they do? Do they make you set a new goal if you keep losing?

During the 6 week maintenance period you have to stay within 2 pounds of your goal. The idea is for you to learn how to maintain a weight, not just know how to lose. So if you set a goal of 150 and continue losing then you won't make lifetime. Once you get to lifetime you can go below your goal weight.
That said I really, really, really strongly urge you to set your goal for now at close to the upper limit. Back in the day, my goal weight was 125 (my range is like 117 to 146). I did get to lifetime. 125 was about 10 pounds below my typical weight at my lowest. I could not maintain it long term. It was just too difficult. So here I am having gained to a huge amount. My new goal will be 145.
If I get to 145 and can easily maintain it or continue losing then I may set a new lower goal (I don't have to maintain 145 for 6 weeks since I'm already a lifetime member). However, trying to go super low before I know I can maintain 145 seems foolish to me.

What is a lifetime member and what do you have to do to be one?
Thanks!
Ronnie

Ronnie, to be LT you have to reach your goal weight and stay within 2 pounds above or below for 6 weeks.
To the OP, you don't have to set a goal right now. If you're unsure, when you hit 150, see how you feel about where you are and discuss it with your leader.

I work for WW and the weight requirement for goal has changed. You must be within 2 pounds, plus or minus, of your goal weight. If you go below you will be asked to change it. The feeling is that people maintain better with a small window.

I thought that after the 6 week maintenance period you could go below goal.

I've been below my goal for quite a while now and have never been asked to change it. I weighed in on Saturday at 10 lbs. below my goal, and all the leader noted was that I'd gone down a couple of pounds since the month before. In fact, the month before I asked if I should lower the goal, and the leader said, in effect, why bother. Perhaps it's the difference in franchises? Anyway, in my six-year maintenance experience, I haven't had an issue with being asked to change my goal weight.
