I haven't eaten a mcchicken sandwich (my favorite McDonalds treat) since joining WW. Mind you, I've only been in WW for 6 weeks now, but I used to stop at McDonalds a few times every week.

Leeesa- how I relate? I just finished a carrot raisin scone and began to make my way on a carmellized onion scone when I realized I had consumed a shocking 15 points...
After my momentary lapse of sanity, I decided scones are on the NO list for awhile.

I'm almost embarrassed to admit this, but I love the boxed Kraft Mac & Cheese. (Must bring back comfort food memories from childhood.) Anyway, 1 cup is 8 points - never mind how many times I ate the whole box.

King size candy bars, dairy queen blizzards, chicken wings, footlong italian b.m.t. from subway, onion bagels with extra cream cheese from dunkin donuts... i used to buy the big bags of pepperoni pizza combos and eat the entire bag in one sitting... we used to live across the road from a store, and when my husband would leave for work, i would head over and get a large bag of peanut m&m's and eat them all before he would return. Oh, glazed honey buns!!

I had lunch with my husband one day before I left town for the weekend. He picked the place, and I was too busy at work to remember to check the points before I left. I was going to do it on my phone, but traffic was SOOOOOOO bad, by the time I got to the restaurant, I had 10 minutes to eat and get back on the road. I just ate my whole meatball sub from Firehouse Subs and ran. I got back to work to log things and discovered the sandwich was 19 points!!! On top of that, I felt sick all day for eating something like 45g of fat all at once! I told him we're not eating there anymore!

hmm...pop tarts...yumm...I haven't had them in over a year.

Even the ones without icing that have "fruit filling"...are like 8 points...for ONE pastry.

The good ones can cost you up to 20 points per package!!!

I am laughing at all the Starbucks entries in this thread! Wow! I used to get the Vente Caramel Frappachino's sooooo bad for you! I don't know how many points, I can only imagine.

Fast food from ANYWHERE is my downfall, so I avoid them like the plague. I was encouraged though, that one of my favorite guilty pleasures, Papa John's Spinach Alfredo Chicken Tomato pizza, is only 7 points per slice according to DietFacts.com - So I can actually have something that tastes great and 'feel' almost like I'm cheating but I don't have to feel guilty.

I think someone earlier mentioned the portion sizes - that's been the biggest hurdle for me. I can actually feel quite full and statisfied with like 1/3 of the plate of food at a restaurant, but I just keep eating 'cause it tastes so good. Keeping a food journal/diary has been essential to my being able to lose weight and keep me accountable, even logging in my 'cheat' days so that I have to face why the scale didn't budge. I'm resigned to this being a lifestyle change. At least with WW, you can eat pretty much wherever you want - I HATE making excuses constantly when I'd dieted in the past "Oh, I can't eat there," "Oh, I'm not doing carbs" whatever. I have to live a real life with my real family and learn to educate myself on what my limits are.

One of many things that have helped me is not buying tons of junk food crap to keep in the house. Buying single serving crap for my family who doesn't need to lose weight and their willingness to not expect me to buy food that I just can't seem to resist yet. Support for your weightloss efforts is key I think. If you can't get the support from your family - look for it here, or elsewhere online or with other friends and/or family. Surround yourself with positive people who want the best for you!
