Ann, what an awesome NSV, putting that cake in the freezer - not sure if I could have done that without taking a "bite", which ends up being several bites... Great job!
You sound like such a people pleaser making all this food for people. I do pride myself on bending over backwards trying to accommodate guests, though. When we are expecting company, I try to scope out all of their favorites to have on hand.
Laura, that apple butter sounds pretty good, but you do add sugar. I was hoping it would be sugar free. The applesauce sounds nice. I didn't know your DH was a diabetic. I would presume you end up eating all of this kind of foods?
As for me, it was a VERY quiet day. My DH left around 2:00, DS was working and DD had a rehearsal for a Christmas show (yes, already in Oct.) she is going to be in. I was home alone and got some sewing done.
I made the Pasta e Fagioli for dinner and it came out well, I made Italian Bread in the bread machine as well, just counted the points. I figured out all the points for the entire recipe (19) and divided by 6 so that there could be six huge slices (it is a 1 lb. loaf) from this. It worked out just fine and having it with the soup was very yummy.
So, tonight is Red Sox! I shall enjoy a WW frozen ice cream pop while I watch.
Take care and talk with you all tomorrow!

Linda, reading your post reminded me to go "look" for those baguettes.

Good morning all! Not much going on here yet today.
Just wanted to say that I will re-start the thread a bit later unless someone else beats me to it.
Additionally. I love Mondays.... it's a fresh start and I have my journal/tracker set up so that Monday always begins my week fresh as well, I like that. So, today is a clean slate with 35 flex points and whatever the sins of the past were, they are all behind me.
I got on the scale here at home this morning and it's not moved at all this week. I'm pretty bummed about that as I truly haven't been bad. I ended the week not having used all my flex points, having journalled each day, having been to the gym three times. So, why not some new numbers to show for that hard work? There were a couple of days that I did not have my healthy oils, though. I wonder if that contributed?
I shall drink extra water today and be very careful about what I eat and maybe by weigh in tomorrow something will reward me? Of course, as always, I know I shouldn't be weighing myself at home and I know my scale and theirs differ anyway. But, I am compulsive.
Time to make school lunch and breakfast for DD.... it's an oatmeal morning for me with pineapple, I think. I'll plan my food out later on as well. I will go grocery shopping today, maybe it's time to try getting back on CORE again? I've been avoiding that.

Good morning!!
Today is a Halloween at Story Hour... I've been bringing the 2 year old I babysit. I'm a little nervous-- sweets are my weakness!! I myself offered to bring cucumbers and ranch dressing... hopefully I can nibble on cukes (minus the dressing)...

Tracy, isn't it awful that just about everywhere you go is food nowadays?
No wonder our society is so overweight.
I don't know if you remember this, but a long time ago I reported to our group a TV show I saw about kids getting birthday cupcakes all the time at school it analyzed that at an average of 20 birthdays a year during the school year and 350 per cupcake that kids were getting an extra 7000 calories per school year just from cupcakes alone. Those might not be the exact numbers, but it was something like that. If we stop and think about all the "goodies" we treat kids to at special children's events, it's quite startling. Then, if you add Halloween, Easter, Valentines Day, Christmas, and any other reason people find to celebrate with food, it's really something to think about.
So, good for you being the one to bring something healthy! Carrots are orange, the same color as Halloween pumpkins, by the way!
Keep trying to do the right thing for yourself and the kids, be proud!
