Default Chocolate Lovers & Food Finds

First, I want to say that I am a choc-o-holic and always have been. If there's one thing that could make me totally blow my points in a day, it's chocolate. So, last night I tried Hershey's 100 calorie snacks (2 points each) and they are awesome! They aren't tiny servings like the WW Whitman's candies, but they are smaller than your average candy bar. I love 'em!

Also, I know everyone here is on the WW diet, but I like to try all forms of "diet" pre-packaged foods. I like the pre-packed stuff because it helps me not go overboard with my serving sizes - I know WW tells you to stay away from pre-packed, but they have their own line, so why not!?

Anyway... you should try South Beach stuff. Specifically their lunch wraps (two wraps and a Jell-o for only three points) and their breakfast wraps (one point each!).

If you still have your coupons from this weekend, there are coupons in it for both the Hershey's 100 calorie packs, the South Beach foods, AND one for Lean Cusine also!

I LOVE CHOCOLATE but right now I'm trying to cold turkey as I had gotten hooked on sugar again and was having a hard time avoiding it.

A couple of things I use to get my chocolate fix in (when I able to add it back). SF Chocolate pudding, lowfat graham crackers crumbled in it and 2 t sf or lite cool whip. I believe it is 3 pts and it tastes like a chocolate cream pie. OHHHH SO YUMMMY. I also love the Teddy Grahams Chocolate flavored. Although 22 pieces is 3 pts, I'm sure I could figure cut that down to the 14 pieces to make it 2 pts and have it satisfy me

My WW leader made a suggestion for me for chocolate because it is such a Red Light food (an old WW term which indicates a food that you can't stop eating). To plan for it and eat it at the end of my meal. Then it takes away the out of control part of the food for me. She also encouraged me that if I'm going to eat chocolate, don't eat junk chocolate, go for the good stuff and make it worth the full points. Because I've struggled so hard to get away from the sugar problem, I haven't tried this solution but it sounds like it will really work. I do know that when I plan a sweet treat at the end of the meal, it makes the meal so much more satisfying and I don't have the cravings as much later.

WW site has a recipe for no bake chocolate cookies that are 1 pt per cookie. They are small cookies but they are so chocolatety and good that they totally fill the urge.

If I think of others, I'll post them.

BTW, I love the South Beach stuff too. Very tasty and seem to have more fiber and protein so they stay with you longer

Depends on the product. The ones that I've used are pretty comparable

SweetCakes - their frozen stuff is about the same points value as SmartOnes, Lean Cusine, and Healthy Choice. Their wraps are really low in points though, as I've mentioned

JasonsLea - lol, yea, I cut coupons like crazy! Diet food is kinda expensive and I save money whenever I can!

You can have 13 mini chocolate-meringue cookies (I buy mine at Trader Joes) for 110 calories. Its a HUGE portion of chocolatey goodness.

Thanks for all the info! I've not tried the SB items, but I think I'll give 'em a look when I shop this week.

Coupons? Yep, I cut them, but hubby says we collect them because half the time I forget to take them along...hehehe

I really love chocolate as well and have had to really think hard about what is going to satisfy my craving. I've decided to just go for the "good stuff" and eat real chocolate. But what I'm doing is, I only buy the 70% cocoa dark chocolate, and buy it in small tiny prepackaged servings. Lindt makes a bag and I can have 3 pcs. for 2 pts.

Erica - that's EXACTLY what my WW leader said to do. Make it count and have the GOOD stuff if you're going to have it

Yaaay!! More couponers! Maybe we should have a sticky, "Couponing For Weight Loss". Kelly, you need a binder. Take it everywhere and never be caught without the coupon for that yummy chocolate item that is on clearance!

About the chocolate, don't forget the Chocolate Cat cookies from Trader Joe's. 2pts per serving (about 15). And those meringues are to die for!

I too am a huge couponer. I find though I am not using quite so many these days as many of the coupons are on processed prepared foods.
