Have you been to a podiatrist? Maybe you have plantar facitis (sp). I got that during my Jazzercise period - not that Jazzercise caused it, I probably just overdid it. It's been over 10 years but I do remember it hurt like crazy!

Anyway...I swear by New Balance. I'm on my third pair of New Balance 409's (or they might by 509's or 609's at this point...). I'd recommend rather than going to Sportmart or the like, that you might want to check out a fit specialist or a store where the staff really knows about shoes and fit. New Balance actually has their own stores - you might want to check out their website at www.newbalance.com.

(There are other great shoe manufacturers out there, but I REALLY prefer New Balance...)

I can't get New Balance shoes to fit my wide feet, but I absolutely love Mizuno's.
