Lydia, it definitely takes me some time to get a slower distance pace dialed in, because of all the sprint distances we do at the CF gym. I think just getting those long runs in is going to be what makes or breaks this effort for me, to get my pace dialed in for the running portions, to get my body conditioned for walking more, and to get the kinks worked out with eating, drinking, to learn to prevent chafing, and blisters/foot problems. It's a lot to learn, but I'm looking forward to it when I get my mileage up a bit.

Ok today was another good day.
We did:
As many rounds as possible in 30 minutes of:
5 Snatch Grip Deadlifts (1/2 Bodyweight on the bar)
5 Hang Power Snatch
5 Overhead Squats
5 Behind the Neck Push Press
So I could certainly deadlift 1/2 my bodyweight but not the rest Since I struggle with squats and overhead squats, I went down to 53 lbs. I could've probably added 5 extra lbs but I felt it was a decent weight. Like my front squats, my overhead squats are improving. I ended up doing 10 round + 15 reps (didn't get to push press the last round). So 55 overhead squats at 53 lbs... Not too bad.
Oh and I discovered something odd today. The cellulite is disappearing from my thighs. My weight has remained relatively the same for the past few months due to me eating to maintain (not on purpose). I was going to the bathroom today (sorry! but only time I look at my thighs) and I looked down and didn't see cellulite on the side of my thighs. I was wondering what happened and had an urge to try to check myself pantless in the mirror at work but refrained Anyway, I got home and started looking. My butt still has dimpling but the side of my thighs are free from dimples and the back doesn't really have any either but its harder to tell with some of the loose skin what is going on back there. Although I think cellulite is the least of my concerns, it is pretty cool that I have proof that pockets of fat are going, going, gone.

Nelie, so glad you are seeing all the positive changes, getting stronger and leaning out...can't beat that!
Back squats today, 3-3-3-3-3, progressive, going for a 3RM PR if possible. My old PR was 165 which was just 2 months ago. I did 95-115-135-155-170(Fail, got 2 reps though)-170(PR)
Barely got the third rep on the second attempt at 170. I asked my trainer to spot me for this one, since on the failed attempt, I got stuck in the bottom of the third rep, had to let the bar roll off my back...NBD for me, but it shot across the floor and could have taken out one of the munchkins. Anyway, a good lifting session.
We had a jumprope clinic after, put on voluntarily by one of our members who used to be on a jump rope competitive team in her youth. She helped with double-unders and showed us a bunch of tricks we could do with single jumps. We had a great time, especially since the strongman goon squad was there, cutting up. There will be some embarrassing pictures somewhere, I'm sure.
Tomorrow (oops, today, I've been staying up late, obviously) they're doing a run/row wod at the gym, so I'll skip and do a long run. Not sure where to start for mileage. I think I'll start with 2 hours or 10 miles, whichever comes first, and build from there. Planning to hit a section of the trail for the 50 miler. I've covered a lot of it with my dogs, but I should get used to covering it on foot.

"2 hours or 10 miles..."she says so causually. Let us know how that goes. Great job on your squat PR. 170! Very Nice.
Nelie: So I'm reading the beginning of your post, and my gaze hits the last paragraph before I finish...something about cellulite. Yep, I immediately skip down to that part. Great job! This stuff really does work. But it certainly isn't easy. Good for you!

You're funny, Lydia, but I get it, too. I'd die of boredom if I was doing it on a treadmill, but being outside and some place pretty helps, and if I feel like it, I'll put on music or an audio book to pass the time. I was all set to sleep in this morning, but my son's cat needed to go outside, and the boy was dead to the world, so I won the toss on who gets to let the cat out at 6:30 am. It's cool, though, because I wanted to get back on a morning schedule, anyway. Gonna scope the trail maps and see which section looks like it might have a strategically placed bathroom.
