Magazines

I know we've had this discussion in the past but I figured maybe we could revisit. I bought Fitness RX for Women at the airport yesterday and I like that it has some interesting articles and some routines. I didn't like all the ads and that the routines were repetitive. I'd like a 'non fluff' magazine to look at, get some ideas and possibly learn a thing or 2.

What would you recommend ?

Nelie- I still get Oxygen, but sometimes don't even open it. There really isn't anything out there geared towards the way I train. And there sure isn't anything without ads. You can either have non-stop supplement ads like in Oxygen, or make up ads like in Shape (which, IMO, is all fluff). Once in a while, I do find some interesting things in Oxygen, and I know a few competitors, so it's always fun for me to see how they are doing.

YouTube is my best source of exercises

Nelie: I would have to second what Mel stated. Most of my information/ideas for updating my workouts come from YouTube as well. Even some of the printed materials I get on a quarterly basis for my certification are a little redundant with what I've already learned on my own or through the websites. Kind of like they are "playing catch up"

Most of the videos I study are created by independent gym owners, trainers and CrossFit. Here's are links to sites I've been visiting this week, but you probably have a pretty good list of these kinds of things too.

I get the CF Journal online, and like it. It's $25 a year, you get full access to every article ever published, from the beginning, so pretty good deal, even if you just check it out for a year. Not sure if they have a free trial or not, but there are a lot of free articles on there, as well, so you can go to the site and check it out, see if it's anything like you're looking for.
