I find the shakes and muscle soreness for a couple of days after a workout to be totally normal if I have worked out extra hard, been away from the gym for awhile, or introduce something new. I try to ease into new programs/exercises so as to avoid so much of the muscle soreness. One thing I find helps a lot is an Epsom Salts bath...or even just a hot bath period of you don't have access to any salts. As well, you may want to make sure you are getting enough protein if you are weight lifting as the body needs that to repair the muscles after the workout damage. I am shaking today after doing the first full tilt leg workout in three weeks, know I am going to hurt tomorrow, and will have lots of empathy for you then!
Keep up the great work! The pain is well worth the final results. I confess to liking it when my muscles give a gentle twinge to remind me that I have recently used them.
Oh, one other thing... If my muscles are hurting from doing weights, I don't work them out again until the pain has subsided...usually two or three days in my case. However, I will do some yoga and find that the stretching can help ease the pain and keeps me mobile. I also walk a lot at my job, and think that level of moderate exercise is good.
