Knee Update And P Trainer

Hi everyone,
Thanks again to each one of you who responded to my post about my knees.
I'm recognizing how scared I get at the thought of NOT being able to exercise.:(
I stopped my LBWL and HIIT ( actually all cardio on my TM) for 10 days but I did a lot of UBWL and AB work so it was okay.
And I am happy to report that my knees and calves are fine now --it was caused I think both by overdoing ( thanks for taking me to task on that Baff) and those wretched cross trainer shoes.
I went back to ss cardio a couple of days ago and did HIIT yesterday and my knees/calves are fine.
I am so grateful that I found a good running store in my next door town and have the RIGHT SHOES.
I also just had my first session with a wonderful trainer who I found by googling for one in my area.
What a difference it makes to have someone really look at how you are doing.
I learned a lot from your great postings here on 3fatchicks and also the NRL4W thread on JPFitness, and Krista's terrific site, but I feel I have just got up to a total new level by having my trainer Kay watch just how I was doing the movements and give me in person corrections.
I'm not using her for my workouts but plan on having her come to my house every 3/4 weeks both to keep checking my form and to give me new exercises.
I highly recommend finding a pt in your area.
It's worth every penny spent.:)

Katie, that's awesome news! Good shoes are the most important piece of exercise equipment that we can buy. And congratulations on finding a trainer! You're so right, it makes all the difference in the world to have someone watch you and correct your form. There's only so much you can learn from words and pictures. Wow, can't wait to hear all about your progress now!! :broc:

Oh gosh yes, shoes make all the difference. When I had physical therapy for my knees, one of the first things he asked was what kind of shoes I wore - all the time, not just for exercise. I now have orthotics which change the relationship of my feet to my knees or something like that. In any case, they help a lot!
