Default Need a little help...

This is a little lengthy.

Currently, I'm covered by my employer negotiated health insurance from UHC; their "Choice Plus" program. In recent years, UHC has become an outstanding provider for coverage of obesity related surgeries... That's not my case. Through the negotiated plan I have, anything obesity related is not covered.. Specifically my policy states that I do not have coverage for "Surgical and non-surgical treatment of obesity, including morbid obesity."

So, what do I do? Do I petition my health insurance? Do I try to create an endless fight with my employer to add this type of coverage? What do I do? This has put me at a stand-still. I work for a very large company, and I know for a fact that quite a few employees that work for the company are overweight. This is why they have a Weight-Loss competition every year... BUT, instead of paying the little extra in premiums, they'd rather pay out even MORE by the insurance costs of overweight individuals.

With this being slapped in my face, I've been on the search. I've searched endless websites, forums, you name it...To try and find a way for me to make this happen. And right now, it's looking bleak. Any way I look at it, it is going to be a long and hard fight if I continue to pursue this.

So for those of you that have gone through this surgery and had health insurance problems, I'll take any bit of advice please!!!

I've heard of people who take a second, part-time job with an employer (such as Starbucks), that does offer it.

I wish a second job was an option. I could use the extra income. But, unfortunately due to my line of work, I do not work consistent enough hours to work a second job.
