Question Lap-Band Pre-op

I am in the middle of getting all of my pre-op stuff done. I have gotten my labs and my chest x-ray done. I still need to get my psych and nutritionist appointments done. I am hoping to have the surgery done in January. It's going to be the start of my new healthy life. Do any of you take bariatric advantage multi-vitamin vita-band and calcium citrate? I have a hard time chewing them up and trying to swallow them. They are very expensive and I don't want them to go to waste. Any suggestions?

i've never used the bariatric advantage vitamins - i was told that there was no need to, as long as i got a good multivitamin/calcium/b complex. I've done just fine with things like Centrum [i usually take 2 a day - when i remember], and that big white and purple bottle of calcium wiht vitamin D [can't remembver the name of it!].

personally, i prefer chewables, but i also just bought some one-a-day women's formula. HORSE PILLS!!! so far so good - hope it lasts!

congrats on making a decision - and it sounds like you're just moving through the process just fine.

I take Centrum chewables. They IMHO are the easiest to take with the band, anything you can chew will do. They also make liquid centrum but I prefer the chewables Good luck on your journey !!

I take Flintstones, reminds me of my childhood. I got a sample of the bariatric choice from Dr Machado and I could chew them no problem.

I am many years out and just recently realized I can swallow the biggest pills lol, had to take antibiotics (DINOSAURS).. but remember everyone is different and in the beginning stages I could not take them, everything was liquid.
