A lurker is scheduled for surgery next week

YOU know who you are!!!

Sending good wishes to you -

This lurker is a diabetic who's having bypass surgery with the hope that she'll be better able to manage her diabetes. She's a wonderful person, but quite shy. her goal is to spend more time with her ADORABLE granddaughter.

So, if anyone else has any advice or good wishes, please post them here! And I'll try to get her to check the site.

Lurker-i can certainly understand your motivation! I had the surgery to keep up with my daughter as well as to hopefully not die young from obesity. Stay positive and follow doctor's orders.

Good luck!

After my surgery, I was on sliding scale insulin. They gave me ONE tiny dose in the hospital and since, my blood sugar has been perfect. You will be happy! Good luck!

well, she's out of surgery, and STILL in recovery [sometimes it takes awhile for a bed on the ward to open up].

will keep ya'll posted!

Woohoo!!! Starting a new life can be overwhelming but you can do it! I love how Jiffy put it, you're hopin’ to better manage your diabetes...Great way to look at it. Some no longer have symptoms of diabetes, others could manage it better, but it is always easier on the body to lose some weight...takes some pressure off the pancreas!

Rest, sip, sip, sip and walk, walk, walk....and love yourself through it all!!

Angela
