Amazing...

I had an endometrial ablation in July 2004. Since then I have occasional light spotting requiring not even a pantiliner...

looks like after 5 1/2 years I'm getting a period.

go figure.

Yeah, my endometrial ablation didn't work like it was supposed to either. Mine was done a little over a year ago and it seems like my periods are getting heavier as time goes by. Still not nearly as bad as what they were before though.

nessa - keep an eye on this. it should return to 'normal' at some point. estrogen is a fat-soluble hormone, it's stored in your body fat. as you lose the fat, the extra estrogen is released. and VOILA!!!! weirdness follows. mention it to your doc and see what happens

Nessa I am surprised they didn't warn you, my doc couldn't warn me enough.. Unfortunately I am having horrible periods, this last 1 I almost went to the hospital I was bleeding so much (3 overnight pads an hour for 2 days).

He tells me to expect that and much longer periods for a year or so.

I had RNY 2/07, ablation 5/09. Since RNY til ablation periods were heavy but only every other month. Since ablation only 2 minor periods so to speak and nothing since August 09. almost 4 straight months period free. Yeah!! I will be 50 in June.
