K sorry for so many entries in here...I think my puter was not working or freezing up or something and I kept adding thinking my profile wasnt getting in here.
So if the Moderators could delete these old ones that would be great.

NAME: Monica
AGE: 40
LOCATION: Washington State right now, but originally from Arkansas
MARITAL STATUS: Married 18 years
CHILDREN: I have 4... 17 year old boy, 13 year old girl, 6 year old boy, 2 1/2 year old girl who is way too sassy for her little self.
PETS: I've got 4 of those too. Reba (a red pomeranian), Coco (a brown and black pomeranian), and Elvis and Priscilla are our Great dane puppies.
OCCUPATION: Registered Nurse specializing in Neonatal Intensive Care.
HEIGHT: 5' 1"
HAIR COLOR: Blonde
EYE COLOR: Blue
PREOP WEIGHT: 230
SURGERY DATE: 08/18/04
TYPE OF WLS: LRNY
PRESENT WEIGHT: 213
GOAL WEIGHT: Right now it's a small goal, to be under 200 before I have to go back to work. I really don't feel like I have much control over it. This is the first time in 3 years that my weight has budged, so I'm happy with my results so far.
Hobbies/Interests I love music. I'm a computer geek, I make meaningless things like signatures and avatars and junk. I do the backgrounds for a couple of disscussion boards. I'm really into photography.
What is different this time in your weight loss efforts than in the past: Well I like that I don't have any choice but to eat right or face the consequences, KWIM. I'm actually seeing results this time, and I'm loving it. I was afraid that I would be one of the unfortunate ones that I wouldn't work for.

i had wls in 2001 and i lost 100 lbs of my 320. it wasn't a lap band or stomach stapling procedure, it was simply a procedure to shorten my small intestine. the theory was "weight loss by malabsorbtion". it worked for about a year and then it slowed down considerably....well, it stopped actually. i was pretty confrotable at 200 for a while so i saw no reason to fight for more loss.
i gained back 20 lbs with poor eating habits. then i had a child, and gained 40 lbs with the pregnancy and 10 more after. i did atkins last year because i was afraid i'd end up over 300 lbs again. i lost 40lbs and i got a job that totally underminded my low-carb eating lifestyle. (i am a cook and had to taste tons of carb-laden goodies.) in the last 6 months, i gained 10 lbs. so i am back on atkins as of 2 weeks ago. i have already lost 5 lbs. my goal is 200 again. i kinda regret getting the surgery sometimes, it has made me sensitive to many foods i love. it was a life saving procedure, yes......but if i had only known about atkins then, maybe i wouldn't have had to go to such lengths.

I am also considering the surgery, my doctor actually told me if my last attempt to lose weight did not work he would suggest the surgery. I have read alot and sometimes that is not always a good thing. My biggest fear I guess is being put under, I am terrified. I have probably 100 pounds to lose, this weight thing really consumes my life. I wake up every morning and its the first thing that I think about. I sure would be nice to wake up and say, dammmmmm! I am thin. I am currently doing Atkins, only into a few days, but it is going well.
Cheers
Sherri
