Default Surgery date is the May 26th - Need to lose weight fast!

I got my surgery date for May 26th - I went to a support group last night and found out that I might not be able to have my surgery because I gained 8 pounds on vacation. I need to lose 8 pounds quick! - I admit I got caught up in "Last Supper Syndrome" - I have started myself on a liquid diet as of right now. I am drinking 5 Muscle Milk lights in a day - and am adding a piece of fruit in the am and a salad or veggies in the afternoon. And am drinking lots of water - anyone else have any idea? ugh!

Have you already had your pre op weigh in? My surgeon didn't weigh me again after that. You also might want to check with your surgeons office. They may all have different guidelines. Mine had a 5lb gain limit. Other wise I'd say stick to a liquid diet your bound to lose a few pounds before the 26th.

Good Luck!

No, I have not had my pre-op weigh in -I JUST found out it is tomorrow - I can only hope I lose a couple pounds in the next 24 hours.

Don't freak, it is what it is. Just tell your doc that you feel like your retaining water (if he asks).

Good luck

truthfully - 8 pounds isn't a huge gain - what's important is that you're back in control [you ARE in control, right????????].

i'm with leenie -tell your doc. the retaining water excuse will work for a few pounds -

I wasn't weighed before my surgery. But, that was almost four years ago.
I think a liquid protein diet would work, but don't starve yourself. You'll be fine!
