Default Planning for Sunday, Dec. 3

Okay, so no one else wanted to plan with me yesterday here It's cool, cuz guess what--I STUCK TO MY PLAN! I will NOT be dragging myself in on Monday morning complaining about how off-track I went over the weekend! I ate only what was on my menu yesterday (except I skipped the fudgesicle). I did not eat out at all, and I drank my 3 full liters of water plus went out walking for about 20 minutes.

Here's today's food plan (pretty much same as yesterday):
  • Kashi cereal w/banana and skim milk
  • yogurt
  • cottage cheese
  • tomato soup w/croutons
  • protein powder (I've never tried it before--I'll try mixing it with water like the directions say, but if that's way gross, I'll use skim milk instead)
  • leftovers - couscous, chicken, veggies, black beans, cheddar cheese
That puts me at about 1450 calories and 106g protein.

Good for you Jilly. I am very impressed with your discipline! I very rarely stick with my plan for the weekends unless I am out and about a lot. This weekend I am just hanging around with my baby, though I will [try] to make it to the park this afternoon for my 3 mile walk (this would complete my 4 day exercise plan for the week). Unfortunately, during these winter days where I just hang around, I tend to put back at least 2 pounds each weekend; often this is the same 2 pounds I just lost during the week. This means I'm very often back where I started the prior Sunday. At this point (Sun morning) I just hope I don't put any more on and am pleased when the Monday weight is the same as the Sunday weight. Yesterday I binged on a number of healthy snacks, with a calorie count of 2139 and 134 grams of protein. Obviously I will never get rid of this weight on this track. I just wish I could stop with the binging on weekends. At least I binge on healthy stuff but it doesn't seem to make much difference in the end.

I used to binge on weekends, too, and like you said, on mostly healthy stuff (since I very rarely have real junk food in my home). Something I've done recently is stop buying convenient snacks. If I want to eat something, I have to REALLY want to eat it because I have lots of ingredients for stuff, but I have to make the effort to put it all together, and sometimes my laziness wins over my desire to eat

I also plan lots of food into my menus. I eat a good 6 or so times a day, and I'm trying to make sure I still drink at least 3 liters of water per day on the weekends (it's easy for me to do while at work during the week, so now I'm working on keeping it up on the weekends). I find this helps, as I find myself feeling thirsty more than hungry, so I reach for water instead of food.

Of course, I say this all like I'm such a seasoned expert when in actuality, this is the first weekend in a LONG time I've been able to stick to my plan But hey, every time I have a successful weekend just makes it that much easier to be able to look back next weekend and say, "hey, I did it last weekend, so I know I can do it this weekend, too!"
